Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion has many optional objectives that players can pursue as they progress through the game. While most of them are in the form of side missions that can be started from a save point, there are optional areas that players can explore as they go through the main story.
Even near the end of the game, players can find an optional area to explore and fight an optional boss before taking on Genesis and ultimately bringing the prequel for Final Fantasy 7 to a close. Here is how players can open the path to the Cage of Binding.
How to Open the Path to the Cage of Binding
The Cage of Binding is an area that can only be accessed in the final dungeon where Chapter 10 takes place. While the main objective here is to find the seven Goddess Materia, players will want to explore a bit to find treasure and other helpful resources.
While exploring this dungeon, the first thing Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion players should do is look for the four stone tablets that tell the story of LOVELESS, the epic that Genesis repeatedly quotes throughout the game. There are four tablets in total, but players will not see any notifications when they have found them all.
The Prologue tablet is directly next to the save point in the Depths of Judgement. The Act I tablet is in a pool of water next to the entrance to the Lake of Oblivion. The Act II tablet is in the Howling Fang next to the locked room containing the Behemoth. The Act III tablet is in the Portal of Severance.
Once all the tablets have been found, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion players will need to go to the Lake of Oblivion and look around for large crystals sticking out of the ceiling with a small column of light faintly glowing underneath them. Interact with each light and an enemy will pop out. Upon defeating the monster at each crystal, the path that leads to the Cage of Binding will open, and players will get the Achievement/Trophy for doing so.
What is in the Cage of Binding
The Cage of Binding is a strange complex that looks like a prison. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion players will come across a bunch of locked doors and prison cells. The only way to get past the doors is by defeating enemies and picking up the keys that they drop.
Eventually, players will get the Iron Bars Key that allows them to open the door where the Behemoth is imprisoned. While none of the Goddess Materia is in this area, players may want to explore the Cage of Binding to pick up some items before facing off against the final boss.
