How to Tame Creatures in Creatures of Ava
Taming creatures in Creatures of Ava – similarly to other games of this nature – is a very simple task once you obtain the key item you will need: the Flute. This is a story item you get pretty early on during your Creatures of Ava playthrough, so there is no chance you will miss it.
More specifically, you will get it after you fall to the very first temple, meet up with Nim'ar, get the Nafitar staff, and talk with Chief Hon'lo. Continue through the main quests until you talk to Nim'ar, who will give you the Flute and instruct you to meet with Sebb'ti, the shepherd. Sebb'ti will then teach you how to play the Flute and teach you the Song of Grass.
The Song of Grass will enable you to tame creatures in the area – when you visit new areas, you will need to learn new songs to be able to tame the local creatures. With the Song of Grass played, you will now be able to tame creatures by using your Flute – just Poké Balls or even Pal Spheres in Palworld. You will want to get near each creature you intend to tame – not too much, or you will spook them – and get your Flute out.
Each creature type will then sing a melody you will need to play back with your Flute. If you are music savvy, then you can probably play it by ear, but you will also have visual queues that will help you out, making Creatures of Ava an interactive music game at times.
How to Guide and Control Creatures in Creatures of Ava
Taming creatures in Creatures of Ava is just the very first step in opening up the world of Ava. Once you have tamed each creature type, if you continue to play your Flute, you will be able to guide every tamed creature and make them follow you to any place you want, as long as they don't leave the area – a blue energy wall will prevent them from doing so.
This is extremely helpful because each zone in Creatures of Ava will require you to complete a Rescue Quest which will need you to guide a specific number of creatures to the different Rescue Robots scattered across the world to teleport them to your ship in the hopes of preservation – no, you won't need to use your creatures for combat of any nature. Not only that but completing said Rescue Quest should be done while you complete other quests since it is a requirement for the story to move forward.
Another ability you unlock, after you get the Flute, is connecting with the different creatures in Ava. This will allow you to take control of the creatures you encounter in the world, allowing you to use their unique abilities, which will destroy obstacles, access inaccessible areas, and get secret collectibles. Focus on any tamed creature and press the "Connect" button to control the creature and use its unique ability.
Be mindful that while you will be able to tame, guide, and control creatures you find in Creatures of Ava if you come across infected creatures, you will first have to use your Nafitar staff to cleanse them from the withering infection. Once you do, the creature will already be tamed, so you won't need to use your Flute to mimic their specific chant.
