Scalpers are selling physical copies of PS5 console exclusive hero shooter Concord at really high prices following the announcement of the game's imminent shutdown. First revealed in May, Concord was heavily criticized for being a hero shooter in an oversaturated market, and many players were not enthusiastic about the game's prospects as another part of Sony's live service efforts. What's more, the game's Guardians of the Galaxy-like art style did not win players over, either. Concord's extremely low player count on Steam showed that the game was not going to meet Sony's expectations, with total sales estimated to be roughly 25,000 copies between PS5 and PC. It was clear that a decision was going to be made regarding the game's future, but players were still shocked when Sony announced that Concord will be taken offline on September 6. Sales immediately ceased on digital platforms, resulting in physical copies being the only option gamers have to play Concord before September 6 rolls around.
Since Concord is shutting down soon, eBay scalpers are listing physical copies of the hero shooter at really steep prices, with the average price being around $149.99 for a PS5 copy. Many of the copies are brand-new and sealed, and prices may rise on bids before September 6 arrives. The most ridiculous eBay listing for Concord shows one sealed copy on sale for $25,000, which is 625 times the game's MSRP of $39.99.

A few eBay users are also scalping Concord Limited Edition PS5 DualSense controllers, which were sold by PlayStation's Direct store for $84.99. The prices for the DualSense controller have increased by more than double, with some being up for sale at $199.99 and $299.99. Despite the high price for the game and controller, some eBay users are watching these items, indicating a potential interest in making a purchase.
It's worth noting that Concord being taken offline does not mean it will be unavailable forever, as the developers are exploring options that will "better reach" players. This means that a free-to-play version of Concord is possible if Sony decides to proceed with releasing the game once more at a later date. However, the developers will have an uphill battle, as apathy and resentment towards Concord spread online in the weeks following its launch.
Although Concord will not be playable for the foreseeable future, the game's universe will be adapted into an episode of Secret Level by Amazon. Secret Level will premiere on December 10, but it's unclear when exactly the Concord episode will air.
