A Concord fan used their refund to purchase a limited-edition PS5 DualSense controller themed after the 5v5 hero shooter from PlayStation and Firewalk Studios. Concord servers went offline on September 6, and refunds are still being issued to those who purchased either a digital or physical copy of the game.
The August 23 launch of Concord did not go as planned for Firewalk Studios, with an immediately low player count suggesting that the game would be facing an uphill battle. Just a week and a half after launch, Concord developers announced that the game would shut down, with digital sales of the game ceasing immediately. The announcement gave Concord players only three days to enjoy the game and earn a Platinum trophy before the servers went offline. In that same window, scalped copies of Concord, along with the game's limited-edition DualSense controller, were being listed and sold at extremely high prices.
Concord Still Has a Handful of Steam Players Online
Even though Concord was delisted and pulled offline recently, Steam data shows that a few users are still playing the hero shooter.
After receiving a refund of Concord for PS5, Reddit user Goldfitz17 proceeded to buy a Concord Limited Edition DualSense controller to keep their memories of the game alive. Fortunately, this controller wasn't bought at a scalped price, as Goldfitz17 confirmed with the Concord Reddit community that they had bought the controller from PlayStation's official online store on September 3, shortly after the game's shutdown announcement was made. The controller is set to become a rare item, as it is currently listed as being unavailable for purchase.

In the same Reddit post, the user also thanked Firewalk Studios for developing Concord and allowing players to beta test the game before its launch. Goldfitz17 would like to meet players again someday, implying that they would like to see Concord servers come back online in the future. PlayStation and Firewalk Studios are exploring options for Concord, which means a potential free-to-play re-release may be in the cards. However, Concord's return may prove to be difficult, as many PlayStation fans were not interested in the game to begin with. Sales estimates suggest only 25,000 copies of Concord were sold, with roughly 15,000 copies being sold on PlayStation 5.
At the very least, the DualSense controller will carry on Concord's legacy for those players who enjoyed the hero shooter. Fans won't have to wait long to see the title again, as Concord will be adapted into a new episode of Amazon's Secret Level. The anthology series will premiere on December 10, but a release date for the Concord-themed episode has not yet been confirmed. A total of 15 Secret Level episodes will be released, with PlayStation contributing other IPs like God of War to the series.
