Call of Duty: Warzone features a large arsenal of weapons that players can wield, each carving out its own niche within the overall meta. While Assault Rifles serve as the best class for most engagements, and Submachine Guns shine up close, those looking for more stopping power at long range may benefit from one category in particular.
Sniper Rifles, outside of Assault Rifles and Submachine Guns, are among the most used weapons in Warzone, excelling at taking down enemies from a distance, though they require significantly more skill to master. They remain some of the strongest options in the long-range meta, and while each Sniper Rifle has its own strengths, some definitely stand out above the rest. Here’s our tier list ranking the best Sniper Rifles currently available in Warzone.

S-Tier Sniper Rifles
HDR
Recommended Attachments:
- Monolithic Suppressor (Muzzle)
- Gain-Twist Barrel (Barrel)
- Lightweight Bipod (Underbarrel)
- Quick Draw Grip (Rear Grip)
- 108mm Overpressured (Fire Mods)
The HDR Sniper Rifle is not only the number one Sniper Rifle in the game, but also one of the top weapons across all of Warzone. While the weapon itself does not boast the highest level of bullet velocity in its category, ranking behind both the LR 7.62 and the LW3A1 Frostline, its overhaul in damage allows players to focus mostly on boosting its bullet velocity, resulting in a build that retains its high level of damage, while boasting very minimal bullet drop. This makes the weapon virtually a one-shot headshot at all ranges, and though it's not the fastest option, it's significantly quicker than some of the heavy hitters from Modern Warfare 2 and 3.
LW3A1 Frostline
Recommended Attachments:
- Monolithic Suppressor (Muzzle)
- Long Barrel (Barrel)
- Quickdraw Riser (Comb)
- Target Laser (Laser)
- 7.62 NATO Overpressured (Fire Mods)
The LW3A1 Frostline might not reign supreme in terms of raw range, and when it comes to ADS and sprint-to-fire speed, it’s fairly comparable to other options. That said, it still stands out as an excellent Sniper Rifle, offering significantly better bullet velocity and a faster fire rate—perfect for chaining shots when you miss that initial headshot. Its mobility also strikes a nice balance between ultra-light rifles and the heavier, harder-hitting options. And with the right build, it’s even capable of one-shot headshots up to 80 meters out, making it a great contender.
Kar98k
Recommended Attachments:
- Range Caller v3.4 Optic (Optic)
- Polarfire-S (Muzzle)
- Präzisiongewehr 762 Long Barrel (Barrel)
- XRK Edge BW-4 Handstop (Underbarrel)
- 7.92x57mm High Grain Rounds (Ammunition)
While technically a Modern Warfare 3 Marksman Rifle, the Kar98k makes a strong case as one of the best Sniper Rifle alternatives in Warzone. It might not offer top-tier damage range or the highest bullet velocity, but it shines in close-to-mid-range engagements. With impressive aim-down-sight and sprint-to-fire speeds, the Kar98k is quick on the draw, perfect for those looking for an excellent quickscoping loadout. Its damage profile is also solid, allowing for one-shot headshots of up to 67 meters with the right build.
A-Tier Sniper Rifles
LR 7.62
Recommended Attachments:
- Monolithic Suppressor (Muzzle)
- Long Barrel (Barrel)
- Quickdraw Grip (Rear Grip)
- Target Laser (Laser)
- 7.62 NATO Overpressured (Fire Mods)
The LR 7.62 shares a lot of similarities with the LW3A1 Frostline, offering the same damage output, but it falls behind in terms of aim-down-sight speed and sprint-to-fire speed. That said, it makes up for the slower handling with excellent bullet velocity and a higher degree of accuracy overall. With the right build, the LR 7.62 is capable of landing one-shot headshots of up to 96 meters, giving it solid long-range potential. While it doesn't deliver the same level of raw stopping power as the HDR, it does benefit from a few key perks it shares with the LW3A1 Frostline: low bullet drop and a faster rechambering speed.
MORS
Recommended Attachments:
- Akilina LR Stalk (Optic)
- Tonne Heavy Barrel (Barrel)
- OP-980 Grip (Rear Grip)
- Bolt (Quick Bolt)
- HVP Anti-Material Slug (Ammunition)
The MORS is easily one of the strangest Sniper Rifles in Warzone, having made its way in from Advanced Warfare, but it’s an absolute powerhouse. It features a single-shot system, where each round is manually loaded after every shot, essentially cutting down on reload time. With the right build, the MORS is also capable of landing one-shot headshots at any range, all whilst boasting very little bullet drop. However, it is not the quickest Sniper Rifle out there, leaning more into raw power than mobility.
KATT-AMR
Recommended Attachments:
- Nilsound 90 Silencer (Muzzle)
- Ephemeral Quickbolt (Bolt)
- Phantom Grip (Rear Grip)
- Tactical Stock Pad (Stock)
- .50 CAL High Velocity (Ammunition)
For a time, the KATT-AMR was one of the best Snipers in Warzone, and that still reigns somewhat true today from a damage perspective. The KATT-AMR is one of the few weapons that boasts a one-shot headshot kill potential at all ranges without the need to increase damage range at all, allowing players to maximize their efforts in upping the guns' bullet velocity, along with increasing the handling attributes. The weapon itself is arguably the slowest option in the Sniper Rifle category, though, and with other options retaining the same ability to kill with one shot to the head, along with being far faster, there are not a whole lot of reasons to run it currently.
CoD Black Ops 6: 10 Best Weapons, Ranked
There is a wide variety of different weapons in Black Ops 6, from Submachine Guns to Sniper Rifles. Here are the best weapons in Black Ops 6, ranked!
B-Tier Sniper Rifles
Victus XMR
Recommended Attachments:
- Bruen Counter Ops (Muzzle)
- Mack 8 33.5 Super (Barrel)
- Bruen Q900 Grip (Rear Grip)
- XRK Rise 50 (Stock)
- .50 Cal High Grain Rounds (Ammunition)
For a time, the Victus XMR Sniper Rifle was a great pick, and while some players may find some decent success when using it today, it's not exactly the ultimate Sniper Rifle. The Victus XMR is generally quite slow-handling, though it does pack quite a heavy punch. It's far from the best Sniper Rifle to use at long range, but with a decent build, players can get a one-shot headshot with the Victus XMR from up to 86 meters.
FJX Imperium
Recommended Attachments:
- Nilsound 90 (Muzzle)
- Fahrenheit 29'' (Barrel)
- Skull-40 (Rear Grip)
- FJX Blast (Bolt)
- .408 High Velocity (Ammunition)
The FJX Imperium has a few perks going for it that make it a decent Sniper Rifle. Firstly, though not the fastest option, it’s relatively quick, and players can build the weapon to have a decently fast fire rate for quickly snapping back-to-back shots on enemies. Players can also kit the weapon to have excellent bullet velocity, placing it on the higher end of the category. Damage-wise, the weapon is slightly lacking, with a damage profile similar to the Victus XMR, but only boasting a one-shot headshot potential of up to 68 meters when fully built for damage range and bullet velocity.
XRK Stalker
Recommended Attachments:
- Bruen Counter Ops (Muzzle)
- Fission 60 Barrel (Barrel)
- XRK Stalker Light Bolt (Bolt)
- XRK Stalker Factory Grip (Rear Grip)
- .50 Cal High Grain Rounds (Ammunition)
Finishing off the B-Tier is the XRK Stalker, another weapon whose damage profile is relatively similar to both the FJX Imperium and the Victus XMR. In terms of speed, the XRK Stalker is relatively slow, serving the same niche as the Victus XMR. In terms of power at range, however, the XRK Stalker is definitely on the lower end, with its max one-shot head-shot kill potential capping out at the 68-meter mark.
C-Tier Sniper Rifles
Sniper Rifles in the C-Tier tend to cater to a niche portion of the Call of Duty: Warzone community, but they’re far from the most viable picks in the current meta. While some players may find moderate success using these weapons, they’re generally not recommended unless players are chasing a specific challenge or grinding for camos.
Here’s a quick breakdown of all the Sniper Rifles currently sitting in the C-Tier in Warzone:
- MCPR-300
- LA-B 330
- SP-X 80
- AMR MOD 4
- SVD
D-Tier Sniper Rifles
D-Tier is home to a handful of Sniper Rifles, which, while some players may be able to use effectively to some degree, are generally options that players should avoid using entirely. Here is a breakdown of all the Sniper Rifles currently ranked as D-Tier in Warzone:
- Longbow
- KV Inhibitor
- Carrack.300
- Signal 50
