Modern Warfare 3’s launch is inching closer, and with the campaign's early access mode coming a week early, fans are excited to dive into the new title and explore its story mode. However, there have been many concerns regarding how much content will be accessible in Modern Warfare 3 from MW2. Players put in a lot of time and effort to acquire an impressive arsenal, cosmetic content, and an array of Operators when playing Modern Warfare 2 and want this to transfer to MW3.
COD points, the in-game currency players purchase in Call of Duty titles, are among the content players are worried about transferring to MW3. Since players buy COD points with actual currency, it’s understandable why they want it to transfer to MW3; otherwise, it would be a waste of money.

Can Players Transfer COD Points from MW2 to MW3?
Yes, users can carry over all their COD points from MW2 and Warzone to Modern Warfare 3. The CP (COD points) will roll over once MW3 launches and players log into their accounts. However, there are limitations to COD points carrying over to MW3. Activision only allows players to transfer COD points on the same account and platform.
For example, if players acquire CP on one user account and use another to log into and play MW3, their COD points will not roll over. The accounts used on both games are different, which Activision regards as two separate accounts belonging to two different users. Players who have acquired CP on their MW2 user account must use it to play MW3 for their COD points to roll over. This also includes other acquired content such as cosmetics, weapons, Operation Nightmare bosses, and skins.
Similarly, if players switch platforms when playing MW2 and MW3, COD points will not transfer over. So, users can’t transfer CP from PlayStation to Xbox or PC. If players use PlayStation to access Modern Warfare 2, they must also play Modern Warfare 3 on PlayStation for their COD points to carry over. Activision only allows players to transfer CP on the same game console, such as from PS4 to PS5 and from Xbox Series X to Xbox Series S or Xbox One.
Players who switch consoles will also lose operator skins, weapon skins, blueprints, and cosmetics. So, players who want to upgrade their console should be aware of losing all their game progression, even the assault rifles and arsenal acquired, before proceeding.
To ensure players are not starting from scratch and losing their hard-earned money, they must use the same account and platform to access and play Modern Warfare 3 when it launches.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
