Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone feature a wide range of weapons, each with their own place within the overall meta. While each weapon has its strengths and weaknesses, they can all be made stronger with the right attachments. However, there is a better way to improve the strength of a weapon: by wielding two of them at once.
The Akimbo feature has been a staple in the COD franchise for a while now, but it’s only available for select weapons in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. While Akimbo weapons are almost entirely made up of options from the Handgun category, there are a few exceptions. Here is how to unlock and use Akimbo weapons in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.
CoD MW3 & Warzone: Best JAK Cataclysm RPK Loadout
The JAK Cataclysm Aftermarket Part converts the RPK into a.50-caliber Sniper Rifle. Here is the best loadout for it in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.
Updated on August 4th, 2024, by Nathan Round: Since Modern Warfare 3's launch and the subsequent integration with Call Of Duty: Warzone, the unlock requirements for Akimbo on certain weapons have changed. Aftermarket Parts that provide players with additional Akimbo Primary weapons have also been introduced. We have updated this guide to reflect these changes, including adding any missing weapons that were not previously included.
How To Unlock Akimbo Weapons
Akimbo is a nifty attachment that allows players to dual-wield two weapons simultaneously. Akimbo is a common Rear Grip attachment that can be equipped to most Handguns via the Gunsmith. However, a few Primary weapons also feature an Akimbo modifier in the form of an Aftermarket Part.
Though Akimbo is readily available, the attachment has a set of unlock requirements that can vary between weapons. Here is a breakdown of all the weapons that support Akimbo in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, along with how to unlock the attachment for each weapon:

How To Use Akimbo Weapons
Weapons with Akimbo equipped lock the player's ability to aim down sights, sacrificing both accuracy and range. However, this drawback is compensated by the doubled damage output from each weapon, as players can wield two guns simultaneously. Both weapons can be fired at the same time or separately, offering players the flexibility to approach each gunfight as they see fit. To use Akimbo weapons, players can do the following:
- Press the Fire Weapon button to fire the weapon in the player's left hand.
- Press the Aim Down Sight button to fire the weapon in the player's right hand.
To improve the accuracy of weapons with the Akimbo attachment equipped, focus on using other attachments that enhance hipfire accuracy and hip recoil control.
