The Call of Duty franchise continues to collaborate with the world of TV and movies and with the Halloween celebrations on the horizon, Activision's shooter series is reuniting with an old friend and an icon of horror movies.
The Season 6 update for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone sees the return of Michael Myers for the first time in a decade. The antagonist from the Halloween movie franchise returns once more and Call of Duty players can wield the famous mask on the virtual battlefield. Here, find out how to unlock Michael Myers and when players can add the Operator to their ever-expanding collections.
Call of Duty Halloween Event Adding 2 Horror Icons to the Game
Call of Duty is going all-out for this year's Halloween event, bringing a number of big-name horror icons to Modern Warfare 3 as part of Season 6.
How To Get Michael Myers
Michael Myers is one of two playable Operators that will be available as soon as Season 6 launches on September 18. Just like previous seasonal updates, unlocking Michael Myers follows a similar formula Call of Duty players have grown familiar with.
All players need to do is purchase the Season 6 battle pass as soon as it goes live within the Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone stores. Once unlocked, players can head to the Operators tab and select the masked figure as their preferred character within the Kortac Faction.
The Season 6 update isn't the first time Michael Myers has featured in a Call of Duty title. The horror movie icon first appeared in Call of Duty: Ghosts as a Field Order, a unique objective dropped from the opening elimination of a match. When acquired, players are transformed into Myers complete with a blood-stained axe and the Halloween soundtrack playing aloud.
Who Is Michael Myers?
Michael Myers, also known as The Shape, is a character from the Halloween film series which made its debut in 1978. Since then, Myers has been the main antagonist in nearly all of the Halloween movies.
His return to Call of Duty isn't the only horror icon to feature in the franchise. In 2020, Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre made an appearance in a bundle as part of The Haunting of Verdansk event.
Whether it's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 or Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision continues to set a high bar when it comes to collaborating with other brands from across entertainment. As one of the final crossovers of the cycle, spooky season is at the forefront of the franchise once again.
