Developer Splitside Games and publisher Daedalic Entertainment have confirmed that the "chaotic co-op racing party game" Fling to the Finish will be making its way to consoles on September 4. Fling to the Finish is launching for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and The Best War Games has an early look at a brand-new trailer showcasing the hilarious antics that are in store in this vibrantly hazardous racing title.
Released in early access in 2021 and launched for Steam in 2024, Fling to the Finish sees players teaming up in local or online co-op to maneuver their tethered characters beyond wacky obstacles and through colorful environments to be the first to the finish line. Fling to the Finish Console Release Date Trailer and Gameplay Details
- September 4, 2025
Fling to the Finish will be making its way to Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox systems on September 4, and console players who pre-order the game can get a special 25% off discount ahead of launch. The console version of Fling to the Finish will feature multiple new game modes, additional cosmetics like character skins and stickers, plus even more unique abilities that were developed and improved through the PC early access version. Fling to the Finish is playable solo, and those who prefer a co-op experience have the option of racing in online multiplayer, local split-screen, and with crossplay between PC and console. A unique "share a controller" version will also be available in local co-op mode, which sees two players sharing a gamepad in the ultimate couch co-op racing game experience.
Players can choose from a lineup of 12 different characters in Fling to the Finish, with attacks like plungers, sinking weights, and evil lasers helping to even the playing field. Each course features a specialized theme and style, ranging from floating parks and giant casinos to worm-filled asteroid fields. The obstacles in each course force players to utilize the tether between their characters in creative ways, giving dedicated racers the opportunity to find the perfect technique to overcome the evolving challenges. As is often the case with games that use physics-based mechanics, the frustrating yet satisfying gameplay adds a comedic charm that sets Fling to the Finish apart from the competition.
Players have long enjoyed racing games with unique gameplay, and the humorous presentation and challenging tests of Fling to the Finish look to be an exciting new offering for fans of local co-op. The console version of Fling to the Finish is available for pre-order starting August 28 and officially launches for Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 4.
