It was noted that Maelle’s playable version is quite a bit taller than her NPC variant, which raised some eyebrows. Some gamers have a keen eye for Easter eggs and hidden details, including one Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 fan who found an interesting detail in the real world of Montpellier, France, and the game offers plenty of secrets to discover, such as a nod to Final Fantasy’s Triple Triad card game.

Maelle’s best builds in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 usually consist of her Barrier Breaker weapon and the Critical Burn Lumina, but Redditors didn’t expect to discover that Maelle’s physical build would grow as well. One user explained the height difference, saying that Maelle could have grown a lot during the expedition, which is common among young people. Another gamer highlighted Elden Ring’s Malenia, who floats around a meter off the ground to make her appear taller and more threatening.

As one of the game's main characters, Maelle has strong backing from the community.
