The true joy of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 lies in the ability to explore the game's entire world map freely (eventually) and find all manner of locations you'd otherwise overlook while playing through the main story. These locations provide not only a wealth of rare loot opportunities but help further expand the lore and understanding of the Continent itself.

One particular location in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 that you don't want to miss if you're an avid collector is the White Sands. If you're not sure where to find it or what it entails, here's a guide to help.

How to Find White Sands in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

The White Sands is an optional location that you won't be able to reach until later on in the game, as you'll need Esquie's swimming and coral breaking abilities to destroy the coral barrier that blocks the route to it from the south. Alternatively, if you wait to explore this area of the map even later, you can also have Esquie fly there. Just beware of the dangerous Serpenphare optional boss floating nearby overhead. That's not a fight you want to stumble upon until you're truly prepared with endgame builds.

You can find the White Sands location in the central east area of the map (seen above), on its own white-colored island. For reference, you can head to the entrance of the Forgotten Battlefield location and then head directly east from there to find it. Have Esquie break through the corals (these strangely respawn after every rest/save so don't let it confuse you) and drop you off on the island. From there, use the portal to enter the White Sands.

Compared to other locations in the game, the White Sands area is a relatively small one and easy to explore. You won't find any enemies or bosses here, nor NPCs for that matter. The main objective is to collect the valuable items scattered around.

When you first enter the area, look for the ledge to your left, just before the Expedition Flag. Go up the ledge to find a Colour of Lumina at the edge.

Next, feel free to use the Expedition Flag for rest or any character upgrades you need, as it's a safe area. Make your way straight ahead and the group will discuss the Lumiere Manor seen in the distance. Keep going until you see another pink item on the ground and pick it up. This is the Aline music record, which you can use back at the Camp to play the respective musical track. It also brings you one step closer to the Connoisseur achievement/trophy (requires finding all 33 music records in the game).
