Leading up to the release of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, fans and critics knew that there was a chance that the small development team at Sandfall Interactive had the chance to pull off something special. Folks had no idea of knowing exactly how special the project would turn out. Now, a month after release, the critically acclaimed title has an incredible collectible coming our way. The Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Monolith Set is now available for preorder.
The Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Monolith Set comes to us courtesy of Laced Records. The company is known for its limited edition vinyl records, which most recently included Assassin's Creed: Shadows, the God of War 20th Anniversary Collection, and Silent Hill 2. But their collectibles game is strong too, because the Expedition 33 Monolith Set is pretty impressive.
RELATED
One of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's best qualities is its story, but the reasoning behind that is because it touches on a universal experience.
What's in the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Monolith Set?
The Monolith.
There have been some pretty egregiously priced collector's editions hitting the market these days. But what Laced has put together seems well worthy of the price. The highlight of the package comes in the form of the Monolith Music Box Statuette. This Expedition 33 collectible is absolutely gorgeous.
To be clear, the game itself, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, is not included, nor any of the upcoming DLC.
The Monolith stands at 20.3cm tall, is comprised of resin, and has hand-painted details to look its absolute best. The base of the statue declares the name of the game for anyone unaware. As you rise up, you'll find The Paintress sitting distressed, head in her arms, with long white hair covering her front. Above her is the emboldened "33" which signals what year the gommage affects, and the remaining third showcases the rest of the magnificent monument's vertical structure. Oh, and did I mention that it's also a music box?
The Expeditioner's Journal
Also included in the Monolith Set is a 48-page hardcover artbook that's dubbed The Expeditioner's Journal. These journals were found in the game to explain what had happened to those prior to Gustave and his crew. Here though, the hardcover journal consists of images of the various characters and creatures from the game. It's an awesome keepsake that makes for a super cool collectible.
Year by year, she erases us.”
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Steelbook
Also included in the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Monolith Set is this impressively illustrated Steelbook. While it's an empty case, it's a cool collectible that you can store whatever you'd like within. It features Gustave and Maelle on the cover. While the back contrasts heavily, with a depiction of The Paintress sitting in front of the Monolith.
Monolith Collector’s Premium Case
The box itself that the Monolith Collection comes within is presentable in its own right. It holds all the aforementioned items within, while displaying incredible art that once again features The Paintress, Maelle, and the other prominent players. It's worth noting because of how impressive it is in its own right. It would sit nicely as part of a quartet along with the other three items.
