In a new Twitter post, Sandfall Interactive announced that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has sold over two million copies in its first 12 days. Boasting an average score of 92 on OpenCritic, fanfare for the indie title continues to grow, with many highlighting its achievements despite utilizing a much smaller team and budget than most triple-A titles. Notably, Clair Obscur sold one million copies in its first three days, with the game's relatively low price tag of $49.99 and release on Xbox Game Pass likely driving engagement and inspiring some players to purchase a copy for their library.

The sudden shadow drop of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered just days before Clair Obscur had many in the community concerned that the former would overshadow Sandfall Interactive's monumental RPG. Thankfully, this doesn't seem to be the case, with publisher Kepler Interactive recently confirming that Oblivion Remastered didn't harm Clair Obscur's sales at all, instead serving to draw more attention to the RPG genre as a whole.

While no official announcement has been made, the lead writer at Sandfall Interactive has hinted that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 might get post-launch content. This is largely due to overwhelming fan demand, with many players expressing an interest in learning more about previous expeditions or exploring more of the game's world. Regardless of whether an expansion is on the way, fans can still look forward to more Clair Obscur content, as the title is set to receive a live-action film adaptation.
