The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive game Drag x Drive will be released at a budget price of just $19.99. Drag x Drive was one of the first Switch 2 exclusives announced, unveiled during a special Nintendo Direct alongside other exclusives like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza.

The Nintendo Switch 2 launched with five exclusive games. Switch 2 early adopters have been able to check out Mario Kart World, Fast Fusion, Survival Kids, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster, and Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour. Besides Mario Kart World, the Switch 2 exclusives haven't made that much of a splash, but the good news is that more exclusives for the platform are right around the corner.

Drag x Drive Risks Landing in the Same Boat as Another Nintendo Game

Drag X Drive looks like one of the Switch 2's most unique games, but it has a lot of work to do to avoid the traps of a similar Switch 1 game.

Before summer is out, the Switch 2 will be treated to at least two more brand-new exclusive games. Donkey Kong Bananza is the big one, with the highly-anticipated 3D platformer set to launch on July 17. But Drag x Drive may also be of interest to fans. Essentially a wheelchair basketball game, Drag x Drive utilizes the Switch 2's unique mouse functionality for its controls. Drag x Drive is primarily a 3v3 multiplayer experience, and while it remains to be seen how content-rich it is, the good news is that it's only going to be $19.99. And considering how expensive other Switch 2 exclusive games are, that's a deal that early adopters may want to jump on.

Drag x Drive Price and Release Date

  • Drag x Drive launches August 14 for $19.99.

Mario Kart World is $79.99 standalone, while Donkey Kong Bananza will retail for $69.99. Survival Kids is a whopping $50, which is wild considering the amount of content it offers. Switch 2 Welcome Tour, Fast Fusion, and Bravely Default are budget-priced, though, at $10, $15, and $40, respectively. Perhaps the low price for Drag x Drive will convince more people to pick it up that may have passed otherwise, in turn ensuring that it has a decent player count at launch to support its online multiplayer-focus.

Drag x Drive is a unique concept and it being multiplayer-only is a surprise considering Nintendo's usual output. It's also the only pure Switch 2 exclusive with a specific release date besides Donkey Kong Bananza. We know that the Kirby Air Riders racing game is launching this year for the Switch 2, but an exact date for the game has yet to be pinned down. Right now, the Switch 2 holiday season is looking pretty bare if you don't count enhanced Switch 1 ports like Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but hopefully a Nintendo Direct happens soon to give fans a better idea of what to expect in the months ahead.
