However, one thing people know they will be getting is Charlie Cox in the lead role as he continues to portray the character in Daredevil: Born Again.
He has been playing Matt Murdock/Daredevil since 2015 via the hit Netflix series and has remained in the role since Disney decided to add Daredevil to the MCU. Audiences have already had hints at what the character will be like in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: An Attorney At Law, and Echo. However, if Cox has things his way, he will continue playing the role for a long time to come.

During the recent FAN EXPO San Francisco, Cox revealed his long-term plans for the character. He said, "They're [Marvel] getting ready to release a comic that takes place where Matt Murdock is in his 60s, so I was like, 'Oh, okay, great, so we got some time.'" It's a clear hint that he's more than happy to keep playing Murdock/Daredevil for a long time to come, which opens up the character to a lot of interesting stories within the MCU.
The comic Cox referenced is "Daredevil: Cold Day in Hell," written by Charles Soule, who, interestingly, was the man behind "Death of Wolverine." That comic is important because it went on to inspire the highly acclaimed movie Logan. That film saw Hugh Jackman take on a much older version of the X-Men character, and while he's subsequently returned to the role in Deadpool & Wolverine, it did kill off Logan at the time of its release.
Marvel Studios has yet to dip into a story like that, with Logan being unique in the superhero genre at this stage. However, the movie was extremely well received by fans and critics alike, and the idea of another film being released with that story style will undoubtedly get audiences interested. It allows those involved to take the character in a completely different direction than possible when the superhero is in their prime. It adds a level of vulnerability and allows audiences to invest in the fight scenes because it's believable that the hero won't survive them.
Marvel Studios will need to invest seriously in Daredevil to reach the stage where audiences want to see that type of project, whether as a TV series or a movie. It worked perfectly in Logan because of how many movies Wolverine had appeared in, with audiences being heavily invested in the character and the journey Jackman had taken him on. Cox might've played Daredevil several times already, but the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series is very much a restart for the character. However, he is rumored to be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday as well, showcasing that Marvel is putting some investment into the long-term future of the role, much like the actor himself.
