There are over 40 different Archetypes to unlock and choose from in Metaphor: Refantazio. You'll start with jobs like the Seeker, Healer, and Mage, and more will come to you as time goes on and the story progresses. However, while the game teaches you how to change a character's archetype at some point, you might forget how to do it when the time comes.

You will not be able to change Archetypes in Metaphor: Refantazio until you get to the end of the Nord Mines dungeon and defeat Captain Klinger in a boss battle. Before the fight, your companion Strolh will unleash his true power and learn the Warrior Archetype.

Right when the fight ends, you'll form a bond with Strohl, and then you'll get taken to More at Akademeia a second time. The mysterious man will allow you the opportunity to awaken Grius' Archetype, and then, the option to change Archetypes in the main menu will be unlocked.

Open the menu with the Options/Menu button on your controller and then go to Equipment. Then, choose the party member and then click on the current Archetype. You can easily switch from Archetype to Archetype on the following screen.

You can switch Archetypes in towns or dungeons, but you cannot switch them during a battle.

By heading into the Archetype menu, you can also see the stats of the Archetypes, their weaknesses, resistances, ranks, and more information.
