Sacred Water is an essential item in Chained Echoes, the popular 2022 old-school JRPG gem. It lets players unlock Leonar's Temple Challenges, granting them new Class Emblems for use in battle.
While getting the first few flasks of Sacred Water is straightforward, players might need some help locating the rest. This detailed guide explains where to find every flask of sacred water in Chained Echoes as well as how to use them.
What Is Sacred Water?
As one of the early-game collectibles in Chained Echoes, Sacred Water is the key that activates Heroes of Leonar statues. Players can use the item to pray to the statues and complete the unlocked Leonar’s Temple Challenges to earn Class Emblems (stat upgrades).
Beginner Chained Echoes players may already know how to use SP to upgrade skill, but Sacred Water works differently as it’s not gained in battle. Players will instead need to collect them through questlines and side quests or find them in chests.
How to Get Sacred Water in Chained Echoes
To get Sacred Water, players should either finish Sienna’s Farnsport questline, create Reward Board chains, or locate hidden chests on the map. There are 12 flasks of Sacred Water in Chained Echoes. Five are obtainable via Chain Rewards, six are hidden in chests, and one is a part of the storyline—in Farnsport’s mission.
Finish the Farnsport Questline
Players earn their first flask of Sacred Water in Sienna’s prologue quest. For that, they must first steal the Farnsport house key from the sleeping guy, enter the grey house past the restaurant, and turn up the stove’s heat. Sienna then sneaks into the bedroom and collects the flask.
Create Reward Board Chains
Starting in chain #4, players earn one flask of Sacred Water for each arithmetic sequence. In total, they get five flasks for Chain Rewards #4, #16, #32, #48, and #72. Chain Rewards are earned whenever players finish tasks that are adjacent to one another. To track the Chain Rewards’ progress, they can press RT (R2 on PlayStation).
Open the Sacred Water Chests.
There are six chests containing Sacred Water, which can be found in the following locations: Tormund, Leviathan’s Trench, The Hooge, Wyrnshire Castle, Flower Fields of Perpetua, and West Ograne Grottos.
- Chest #1: In Tormund, go to the pub’s basement and enter the second bedroom. The chest is in front of the bed’s footboard.
- Chest #2: In Leviathan’s Trench, look for the abandoned chest at the dead end on the right flank of the map.
- Chest #3: In the Hooge, move to the top of the map where there’s a moving platform. Use it to cross to the other side and jump off the roofs until reaching a chest on the right.
- Chest #4: In New Wyrnshire, enter the castle and look behind the Queen’s throne.
- Chest #5: In Flower Fields of Perpetua, fly past the black Tak the Yak and land in the valley hiding the fifth flask.
- Chest #6: In West Ograne Grottos, kill the Tadey to the right of the Magic Warrior statue and pull the chest open to get the last Sacred Water.
How to Use Sacred Waters
To use Sacred Water in Chained Echoes, players will need to interact with the Heroes of Leonar statues and select “Offer Sacred Water and Pray.” This will take players to another realm where they must fight hordes of enemies in a unique turn-based RPG combat. When used successfully, Sacred Water unlocks a new Class Emblem, which provides two action skills as well as two passive abilities.
Chained Echoes is available now for PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox.
