The Castlevania chapter in Dead by Daylight is still relatively new, but it already feels like it could repeat Resident Evil's feat in the game. Dead by Daylight managed to bring a horror icon in Dracula and a classic video game franchise in Castlevania into the game in one fell swoop. This alone is a major gain, but it feels like much more can still be done. Dead by Daylight has already had one highly successful video game collaboration with Resident Evil. While the Castlevania crossover is still new, it might be able to achieve the same level of success.

Launching in August 2024, Dead by Daylight's Castlevania chapter offered some significant additions to both sides of the game. Dracula joined the game's killers with an intricate moveset involving multiple shapeshifted forms and the ability to launch pillars of flame. Meanwhile, the Survivors got Trevor Belmont along with a few outfits based on other famous Belmonts. A few outfits for Mikaela and Kate, based on Sypha and Maria respectively, were also added to the shop. Overall the Castlevania collaboration has added a healthy amount of content to the game. TIme will tell how prominent Dracula and Trevor's continued presence will be among players.

Castlevania Has Enough Content to Provide a Second Dead by Daylight Chapter

Dead by Daylight Could See Castlevania Heroes Like Soma or Shanoa

Castlevania has more notable heroes, especially with Castlevania Dominus Collection's recent release bringing a few back into the spotlight. Soma Cruz from Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow is a fine example. In addition to being arguably the series' most unlikely protagonist, he managed to headline two games in the series. Another good candidate is Shanoa, the glyph-wielding heroine of Order of Ecclesia. It should be noted that neither Soma nor Shanoa had cosmetics based on their outfits added to Dead by Daylight's shop. That could point towards Soma and Shanoa having a better chance at appearing than other Castlevania protagonists.

Castlevania Has More Potential Killers Than Just Dracula

Dracula isn't the only memorable foe that players have encountered over the course of Castlevania's history. Death is a recurring boss in the series that acts as a major challenge in most of its appearances. Its grim reaper design is also one that has surprisingly not been used in Dead by Daylight yet. If Death is passed over, then another valid option would be Carmilla. Carmilla has taken multiple forms over the course of the franchise, but her role as a major villain in the Netflix series gave her profile a notable raise. Dead by Daylight could easily get another Killer from Castlevania.

Ironically, Resident Evil's most prominent villain, Albert Wesker, didn't join Dead by Daylight until the second Resident Evil chapter.

Dracula's Castle Could Become a Cool Dead by Daylight Map

In addition to new Killers and Survivors, a new map is another possible result of Dead by Daylight's Castlevania collaboration. While there is already a castle map of sorts in the Forgotten Ruins, a map based on Dracula's Castle could take inspiration from several classic Castlevania scenes. Locations like the Clock Tower and Dracula's Throne would be cool to see rendered in Dead by Daylight's world, and the map's decorations could include a wealth of references to the series' long history. Dead by Daylight's crossovers don't always include maps, but Castlevania could become the source of a particularly excellent one.

Castlevania has enough to offer to get a second Dead by Daylight chapter, just like Resident Evil did. Given how Dead by Daylight's Five Nights at Freddy's crossover still looms in the distance, it's unknown what other licensed chapters will be in the game's near future. While there are still plenty of IPs out there, it wouldn't be a major shock if Castlevania got another shot due to how much it could still bring. Dead by Daylight has only doubled up on one crossover so far, but Castlevania could be the second.
