Captain America: Brave New World Is Actually Getting Even More Reshoots

One Captain America: Brave New World star admitted they had to do reshoots even if they were only months away from the film's release.

One poster uploaded on Marvel Thailand's official Instagram account features Mackie with his blue and red wings while holding Captain America's shield in one hand. Beside him is a figure of Garuda, a highly-revered mythical creature from the country. "New Captain is ready to protect Thailand from any danger!" The caption reads, adding that Mackie is "posing as Garuda soaring through the air." Garuda is a significant figure in Hindu and Buddhist mythology. The character is rooted in Hinduism and according to the legend, Garuda, a bird-like creature, is a vehicle of Lord Vishnu (Narayana). Garuda is considered a protective deity and is a well-known figure in the nation, with its statues found all over the temples, royal palaces, and sacred sites across the country. Garuda is also considered a national symbol since it appears on the emblem of the Thai monarchy, associating it with the king's authority to rule. Garuda also appears in royal warrants. Businesses and organizations that receive the king's royal warrant of appointment can display the Garuda emblem to signify trust and prestige.

Another poster features Harrison Ford's Red Hulk. Just like Mackie's poster, the artwork includes a mythical creature from Thai literature — Yaksa. "Get ready to meet the Red Hulk, ready to rage all over Thailand soon!" The caption reads. Yaksa is derived from the Sanskrit word "Yaksa" in Indian culture. They are supernatural beings often portrayed as powerful and fearsome creatures, ranging from a benevolent guardian to malevolent demons. Yaksa is typically depicted as a towering and fierce being with colored skin, often green, blue, or red. They have noticeable tusks, ornate costumes including crowns, and a menacing visage. In the snap, Red Hulk and Yaksa share the same fiery red color and threatening countenance. They seem to mirror each other.

The two artworks were both impressive, and it was apparent how the artist carefully crafted them to reflect Thai culture and literary tapestry. It is very detailed and both characters – Red Hulk and Captain America – seemingly blend in with their mythical companions. The colors are vibrant and smartly chosen to reflect the two characters featured in each poster and the intricate details evoke certain emotions. For instance, Captain America's poster with Garuda, featuring the blue shade, gives that peaceful vibe, seemingly assuring one they are protected. Meanwhile, Red Hulk and Yaksa's poster appears as intimidating as the two figures and gives the impression of rage and power. Both posters only heighten the expectations and hype for the upcoming movie.

Captain America: Brave New World will be released in theaters on February 14, 2025.
