During Evo 2025, a new title update was announced for Capcom Fighting Collection 2, adding new improvements, quality of life features, as well as four additional characters. The Capcom Fighting Collection 2 announcement shouldn't be too surprising to fans as the studio has followed a similar pattern with its previously released collections, adding new features and updates post-launch as well.

The collection has certainly resonated with fighting game fans, thanks to many of the games included. While every game within Capcom Fighting Collection 2 may not be exactly what fans wanted, such as Capcom Fighting Evolution, the return of Capcom vs SNK and its sequel made this package very appealing. However, the launch of the collection was seemingly just the beginning as Capcom is once again planning a big Title Update and its release date is right around the corner.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is a solid fighting game compilation but an even better example of game preservation done right.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Title Update Adding New Characters

In a surprising move, similar to a post-launch update added to Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, new content and quality of life improvements are being added to Capcom FIghting Collection 2. The Title Update launches on August 7 and the biggest piece of this update for many will likely be the addition of 4 new characters to Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper. Maki, Eagle, Yun, and Ingrid will be joining the roster as fully playable characters, and players can turn them on from the Additional Characters EX Setting for the game.

However, that isn't everything Capcom has planned for the title through this new Title Update. In addition to added artwork for the game's gallery as well as remixed music of classic songs, new game modes are also being added to Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, that can change the rules of the fight. Plasma Sword is adding a feature that can display Combo Routes inside Training Mode, which can also be toggled on or off from the game's settings.

The new update gives fans a good opportunity to check Ingrid out before she's added to Street Fighter 6. Originally introduced within Capcom Fighting Evolution, Ingrid is a character that hasn't been a featured fighter in many games. She was eventually added to Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX and was also intended to appear in Capcom Fighting All-Stars before it was eventually canceled. When she was officially revealed as part of Street Fighter 6's Year 3 DLC, there was plenty of surprise and confusion from fans considering how little Capcom has utilized her since her last appearance.
