Similar to other Soulslike games, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers introduces challenging boss fights that players will struggle with, especially when they’re still learning the combat and mechanics. The game offers a wide variety of weapon choices, allowing players to experiment with different styles and stick with the one that suits them best.

At first glance, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers feels familiar, but its deeper systems take the genre in some unexpected and highly rewarding directions.
Choosing a weapon and mastering it will make the game’s challenges much easier. One of the first major challenges is the tutorial boss, Bai Kru, and this guide explains what happens if you manage to beat it in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
What Happens If You Beat Bai Kru in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers?
Once the game begins, players will control Wuchang, and you must head down to the Reverant Temple. Inside the temple, you can talk to all the NPCs and interact with the Donations Box to claim your pre-order items. Heading outside, you will come across the first Shrine where you can level up, and going down the stairs, you will find an NPC that initiates the first boss fight of the game. There will be a cutscene, and you will find yourself in a large arena where you have to fight Bai Kru.
Given that players won’t have health upgrades or any levels, this tutorial fight can be difficult. Unlike tutorial fights in most games, if you die to Bai Kru, you will be teleported out of the arena and unable to fight this boss again.
This means that you will be locked out of the boss rewards on your current playthrough.
However, if you can manage to beat the boss, you will get five Red Mercury Essences. These are Skill Points that you can use at any Shrine. This gives you a much-needed head start, allowing you to unlock great skills early on
How to Beat Bai Kru in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
You will have only one chance to beat the boss, and your three healing flasks are all you've got. The boss doesn't have many attacks, so you need to learn how to perfectly dodge the few it has. One of the most common attacks the boss will perform is whenever it is at a medium distance from you, and it will try leaping toward you twice.
This is by far the easiest attack to dodge, so in order to make the fight easier, you can try positioning yourself mid-range to force the boss into doing this attack repeatedly.
However, the boss also has a long-range attack where it shoots out a water stream upward. You should always be ready in case the boss performs this attack instead of the leaping one. The animation for this is easy to spot, and you should be comfortable dodging this attack to the side after a few attempts.
It is important not to be greedy with the chances you get to attack. After dodging the double leap attack, you should not attack more than twice using your Longsword. The boss has a few strike and slam attacks that it can follow up with, which are easy to dodge, but make sure you don’t spam dodge.
