Can Scatterbug Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
Scatterbug is a Pokemon available in Pokemon GO that is a Bug-type, and evolves into Spewpa and Vivillon. Scatterbug is a relatively easy Pokemon to get, with one particular method that can be used to get encounters with it, which includes pinning Postcards in your Postcard books.
You can then evolve your Scatterbug into Spewpa using 25 Scatterbug Candies, and then into Vivillon using 100 Scatterbug Candies. You can easily get candies by catching multiple Scatterbugs, and using Pinap Berries to increase the amount of candies you receive. There are also a multitude of Scatterbug color variants available for players to catch, including:

With so many different patterns to locate and catch, you will certainly begin to grow a collection of Scatterbugs that eventually evolve into beautiful patterns when they become Vivillon. However, can you get a Shiny Scatterbug as well, which has a white color palette rather than gray?
Despite there being a lot of color variations for Vivillon, you unfortunately cannot get a Shiny Scatterbug just yet. However, the Shiny variant does exist in other games, so we most likely will eventually see a Shiny version released in the game. While it hasn't been announced yet by the Niantic team, Shiny Scatterbug has a high chance of appearing in the future.
While you are waiting for an update on Shiny Scatterbug, however, you have so many Scatterbug pattern variations that you can work towards getting. You can do this by pinning multiple Postcards in each new region where the pattern variation Vivillon can be found. You can also check your Vivillon Collector Badge to see how many more Postcards you will need to pin before you unlock the Badge, which will then give you a Scatterbug encounter for that region-specific pattern.
