Some of the rarest achievements in Call of Duty Zombies history prove that only the die-hard veterans are brave enough for the challenge set out by Treyarch. Some extremely hard achievements wait in Call of Duty Zombies, and whether it’s the founding maps of World at War or the stellar design of Black Ops 3, some are beyond rare that other players may have never heard of them.

If players want to try their luck at earning some of the rarest COD Zombies achievements, then they can find a treasure trove of challenges below, and perhaps they might dare face the undead to obtain some true rarities worth bragging about to any fan of the COD Zombies series.

8 Shooting on Location

Call of Duty: Black Ops – Call of the Dead
In Call of the Dead, kill 10 zombies with one Scavenger shot from over 100 feet away.

The Scavenger and PhD Flopper combination in Call of Duty: Black Ops is truly lethal and all kinds of fun, so players might already have the Shooting on Location achievement simply due to the map’s meta. However, since less than 8% of players have achieved it, those seeking it can find the explanation below.

Shooting on Location requires players to kill a total of 10 zombies with one shot from the Scavenger. It’s most beneficial to upgrade the weapon. In co-op, players can let their buddy train a horde and then shoot them 100 feet away, which is over 30 meters. However, in solo, this requires hoarding zombies at the Lighthouse and then running fast with Stamin-Up to spawn in an effort to kill 10 zombies before they go past the 30-meter range.

7 Time Travel Will Tell

Call of Duty: Black Ops – Shangri-La
In Shangri-La, acquire the focusing stone.

Main quests and main easter eggs in COD Zombies are no easy tasks, and players will inevitably find themselves repeating a cycle in an effort to finally complete them. They have obscure and difficult steps at times, but none are as obscure and difficult as Shangri-La, due to the fact that it requires puzzles and communication between four players.

As such, less than 6% of players with Black Ops have completed the main quest in Shangri-La, and thus the Focusing Stone has never been acquired for over 94% of the game’s total population. It’s not surprising, considering how it requires four players in total communication with each step.

This achievement returned for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 – Zombie Chronicles, and has a 2.31% completion rate!

6 Ground Control

Call of Duty: Black Ops – Moon
In Moon, prevent each excavator from breaching the base in one game.

Ground Control requires players to survive on the beloved Moon map, in which they will need to turn on the power and wait around for an announcement that an excavator is coming down into either the Firedome, Tunnel 6, or Tunnel 11. Once an excavator begins its journey, players only have a few minutes to find the Hacker in the Laboratory, where they must then take it back to the spawn room to deactivate the excavator that will cut through a specific area of the map, leaving it without oxygen.

The reason this achievement is so rare is simply because of the RNG required. Some players go enter games, and perhaps even to round 40 and beyond, without the game sending an excavator to a location it hasn’t been. Excavators come down at random, and some unlucky players might have a repeat. Plus, trying to deactivate an excavator on high rounds is a death sentence.

This achievement returned for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 – Zombie Chronicles, and has a 2.40% completion rate!

5 Full Lockdown

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 – Mob of the Dead
In Mob of the Dead, Brutus completes his patrol.

Everyone who has experienced the S-Tier map of Mob of the Dead knows of the dreaded fury of Brutus, the warden of Alcatraz who will spawn in at random and will hit perks, Mystery Box, and buildable stations to lock them down. There are so many spots that Brutus must lock down to activate the achievement, with over 9 spots to lock down.

From the plane to Speed Cola, players are going to need to guide Brutus to every lockable function of the map. Killing Brutus results in a restart, as it has to be the same Brutus to lock everything available. It’s a pain to unlock, but a nostalgic reward.

4 Don’t Fire Until You See

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 – TranZit
In TranZit, have all doors opened without being set on fire.

One of the hardest trophies in COD Zombies, Don’t Fire Until You See is going to be a lengthy one, and punishing, since players will need to restart if they touch lava or are impacted by a fire-zombie’s explosion. Heading through the Green Run of TranZit, players must use the turbine on every door, as well as purchase every door, all without hitting lava.

This requires players to to use the turbine and spend all their points, staying safe on the bus while heading to each location. With almost 20 doors in TranZit, it might take a few runs to get this one right, but it’s easily one of COD Zombies’ hardest and rarest.

Buried is a beloved map for a reason, and one of them is due to the fact that it’s possible to Pack-a-Punch on round 1. It’s not going to be easy, but thanks to the chalk drawings around the map, players can easily earn 1,000 points for every chalk outline. On top of that, six zombies spawn on round 1, so players can only kill 5, and maximize their money by shooting them in the leg and then using a melee kill.

Obtaining the points might not be overly hard, but what is, is heading through the mansion and fighting off the ghost girls. The ghost girls steal points, so if players actually make it to the hedge maze for the Pack-a-Punch, they will need to fight off the ghost girls so that they don’t lose all their money and force them to try again.

2 Web of Defeat

When Spiders are active on Zetsubou No Shima, they have the potential to use their webbing to lock players and zombies out of specific areas. Whether it’s webbing up a door or a perk machine, the Spiders are a nuisance, but players can use them to obtain a specific achievement.

There are many ways to destroy the webbing and to start, players can use their normal knife, then a grenade, then the upgraded bowie knife. Players will also need Widow’s Wine to destroy webs with a Webbed Grenade. It’s also essential to keep the starting pistol to destroy a web with the upgraded Death and Taxes, then lastly, players need to use a Ray Gun and the XM-53, both from the Mystery Box.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 – Revelations
In Revelations, assist a Keeper in defeating every type of enemy.

Revelations can be a pretty tough map due to its celebration of COD Zombies history. Combining almost every map’s design into one mash-up, players can also find Keepers within Revelation that can be purchased to act as mobile defenders. These Keepers can deal an okay-ish amount of damage to enemies, but they must defeat every enemy in Revelations for the achievement.

Revelations have quite a few enemies, and players must build the Keeper themselves, which takes time. Players then have a lengthy checklist of things to kill: Zombies, Rotten Zombies, Panzersoldats, Margwas, Furies, Parasites, Spiders, and Corrupted Keepers. It’s a long list and some players simply don’t want to go through the effort.
