Every week, Infinity Ward releases a new update for Call of Duty: Warzone, sometimes adding new content, and other times simply adding new playlists for players to try. This week, Call of Duty: Warzone fans can look forward to a brand new battle royale variant to try, as a new game mode will be going live in the game on April 14 (barring any unforeseen delays).

The next Call of Duty: Warzone update will be adding the new mode Scopes and Scatter Guns Trios to the game. As its name implies, Scopes and Scatter Guns is a Call of Duty: Warzone variant where players will only find shotguns and snipers on the battle royale map, as opposed to the more varied weapon selection that's available in the other game mode. Scopes and Scatter Guns will be limited to Trios for the time being, but one has to imagine that Infinity Ward will expand it if it proves popular with fans.

It should be noted that standard battle royale and the Plunder mode will remain available while Scopes and Scatter Guns is active in Warzone.

Along with the Warzone Scopes and Scatter Guns mode, the new update will also be adding some content to the store for fans to purchase. To be made available for 1,300 COD Points, the Twin Dragons bundle will net players the Kingly Splendor Assault Rifle and The Alchemist's Dream Handgun, along with the Soul of the Mountain Emblem and the Spirit of the Spring sticker. Of course, there is plenty of cosmetic items that players can unlock in the Warzone Season 3 Battle Pass instead, so players should keep that in mind.

The Warzone Season 3 Battle Pass includes all kinds of customization options for fans of the battle royale to get their hands on, including some brand new Operator skins. Of particular interest in the Battle Pass is Riley the dog from Call of Duty: Ghosts, as well as a new Yegor skin that some fans have compared to John Finlay from Netflix's Tiger King docu-series.

Looking ahead, fans can expect many more updates for Call of Duty: Warzone in the coming weeks. The Warzone Season 3 road map promises more guns that players will be able to add to their collection, not to mention more playable Operators, so fans should stay tuned for more details.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
