Call of Duty: Warzone has been full of teasers in recent months, as Raven Software had previously been building up to the Nuke event. Now, another Call of Duty: Warzone teaser has been posted, and fans are beginning to theorize about what it could be referencing.
The teaser itself follows a style like the one used by Call of Duty: Warzone’s statue, which was previously covered so that its debut could surprise fans. However, words could be made out, giving fans some idea as to what the message could be referring to. That same style is seen with this teaser, only this time it shows a piece of paper with redacted text. With black lines used to cover words just like in the Black Ops series, the teaser could be tied to the ongoing story with Adler.
In the teaser, the words “Verdansk” and “Cargo” can be seen. The phrase “needs saving” is also visible, with the message “something must be done soon” being fully visible to Call of Duty fans. One of the most prominent guesses is that Verdansk’s Zombies could return, as suggested by players like @Slade7714. With the Vodyanoy being a Cargo ship, the start of the message would make sense. The main phrase about something needing to be done also takes on familiar language from some of the Zombies teasers.
However, having another Zombies Outbreak so soon makes little sense, especially with how divisive the previous use of PvE enemies was. Another theory comes from @CarlosV2o9, with the gamer suggesting that it could be a teaser for Call of Duty 2021. With previous rumors suggesting that the next Call of Duty game could be revealed during Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4, this is not a bad guess. The paper looks aged as well, adding to the theory.
The final theory may be the strongest of the bunch, though some may view Raven’s method of teasing it as frustrating. Modern Warzone’s theory for the post is that it will be bringing an end to Call of Duty: Warzone’s cargo truck meta. Cited by streamers like Dr Disrespect as a massive issue with the game, many have deemed the trucks unfair. Seeing them nerfed would make sense given the number of complaints, and the revealed words line up perfectly with the phrases that @ModernWarzone suggests. Still, this would be a lot of buildup for what is ultimately just a balancing change.
With the “T-1” in the corner possibly suggesting a Thursday launch date for whatever is being hidden, Call of Duty fans might not need to wait too long for answers. As of now, though, the teaser could go in many different directions, meaning that fans will have to keep an eye on Raven’s official Twitter account.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
