Call of Duty: Warzone has released a limited-time mode with two brand-new features, the Covert Exfil and Weapons Case. Call of Duty: Warzone's newest features were originally meant to be released much earlier.
Warzone first announced the Covert Exfil and Weapons Case features back in early January ahead of the Season 1 Reloaded update. However, the community's negative response towards the Covert Exfil feature led Warzone to delay the new additions until a later date. Fans were not given much information about when they could expect the new features to be added but were told that they would eventually be introduced in their own mode separate from Warzone's standard battle royale. Fortunately for fans who were intrigued by these game-changing features, the wait is now over.
Call of Duty Reveals Roadmap for Season 2
Call of Duty reveals its roadmap for February's Season 2 update, which will introduce a plethora of features to Warzone, Multiplayer, and Zombies.
Warzone launched a new limited-time mode titled Battle Royale Preview. This mode offers an early look at features that may be integrated into Warzone's standard battle royale mode later on, and it is currently available in the Quads format. In the new limited-time mode, fans can purchase a Covert Exfil at a buy station for $30,000, which will allow them to escape a match early, ideally with a Weapons Case in tow. However, only five Covert Exfils can be purchased per match, and none can be purchased after the Gulag closes. Additionally, at the start of every Battle Royale Preview match, a Weapons Case will spawn at a random point on the map, and its general location will be visible on all players' maps. Upon picking up the Weapons Case, the user will be marked on all enemies' maps. However, successfully exfilling with a Weapons Case gives a squad exclusive rewards.
Warzone Rewards for Exfilling With the Weapons Case
- First Victory (non-Covert Exfil) with Weapons Case: Mortem operator skin
- First Covert Exfil with Weapons Case: After Party decal
- Second Covert Exfil with Weapons Case: Person of Interest decal
- Third Covert Exfil with Weapons Case: The Pursued decal
- Fourth Covert Exfil with Weapons Case: Behind the Mask sticker
- Fifth Covert Exfil with Weapons Case: Harrow MTZ-762 blueprint
Warzone squads that earn a traditional battle royale victory by being the last squad standing while also holding the Weapons Case will earn the exclusive Mortem skin. Players who Covert Exfil with the Weapons Case will earn rewards as well. With each successful exfil, they will earn the After Party decal, then the Person of Interest decal, then the Pursued decal, then the Behind the Mask sticker, and finally the Harrow MTZ-762 blueprint. After the fifth Weapons Case exfil, users will continue to earn a 15-minute double weapon XP token with every successful escape.
In addition to the new LTM, Warzone also confirmed that Fortune's Keep will return on February 7. The fan-favorite map will have redesigned POIs and new features like extendable bridges.
Fans can also look forward to the return of Warzone's PDS Field Upgrade during Season 2. The PDS, which allows users to become invulnerable to gas for a short time, is set to release later in Season 2 after the update's initial launch.
