Call of Duty: Warzone, the Battle Royale spin-off from Infinity Ward's legendary FPS series, released on March 10th. Since then, players have fought and died in countless battles throughout the game's fictional city of Verdansk, discovering many of Warzone's secrets in the process.
From launch, it's been clear that there is more to the Warzone map than was immediately apparent. Phones and laptops that can be interacted with, as well as a number of mysterious bunkers scattered across the map, have been featured. Now, in the May 18th Patch, one of these mysteries has been unveiled with the addition of keycards that can be used to unlock the bunkers. Here's where to find red key cards in Warzone.
The Red Keys
There are 12 bunkers on Warzone's map, each sealed behind a huge door, and most with a keycard reader to one side. If the bunker has a green light on it, then it can be accessed and plundered by any player with one of Warzone's bunker cards. These red key cards are a loot item, and as such can be found in any crate on the map.
Unfortunately for would-be treasure hunters, it seems like actually finding a Warzone bunker keycard is pretty rare. There is some evidence to suggest that they are more likely to spawn in higher-tier crates, red and orange ones for example, but this is yet to be confirmed. The only other way to get a hold of one of these red cards is to take it off another player after killing them, just like any other kind of loot that is dropped on death.
Opening the Bunker
For those players lucky enough to find one of the bunker keycards in Warzone, the next step is finding a bunker to use it on. Of the 12 bunkers scattered across the map, all but a few of them are on the extreme edges, meaning that reaching one can be difficult if the match has already been going on for some time.
To compound this problem, not all bunkers can be accessed by keycards. As we mentioned earlier, only those bunkers showing green lights will be available to open, but that doesn't mean that players shouldn't try and find them. Each bunker contains numerous crates, offering all the cash and high-tier loot that a squad could want for the rest of its match.
Call of Duty: Warzone is currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
