A few weeks ago, Infinity Ward updated the Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale game to add a feature that had been requested by fans since launch: the ability to drop weapons. Being able to drop weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone allows players to share their weapons with teammates, which is especially helpful when they redeploy with just a pistol to defend themselves. However, Call of Duty: Warzone players have discovered some exploits when it comes to dropping weapons, including one that can be used to cheat in the Gulag.

The Gulag, for the uninitiated, is where Call of Duty: Warzone players are sent when they die in the game. In the Gulag, Warzone players have to compete in a one on one match against another player with predetermined weapons, and the winner gets to return to the battle royale. Since Gulag players have the same weapons, it usually provides a very even playing field, but the ability to drop weapons in Warzone is letting people cheat in the game.

TikTok user bewilderedbroadcast uploaded a video showing a new Call of Duty: Warzone exploit. Right when players win the Gulag, they can quickly drop their weapon on the ground. The weapon will actually stay on the ground in the Gulag for the next players that square off. If players coordinate this with members of their own team, they can give their partners a significant advantage and much better chance at winning the Gulag. Of course, it could backfire depending on what side of the room their teammates spawn on, but it's still an unfair exploit regardless.

This is far from the only way that Call of Duty: Warzone players can help out their teammates in the Gulag, however. Players can also tell their teammates the location of their opponent, which combined with this new exploit, could help a lot of players sneak away with easy wins in the Gulag.

There are other ways Call of Duty: Warzone can make Gulag fights easier beyond relying on other people, though. They can also go around and spray paint their potential Gulag opponents, which will make them much more visible once the fighting starts, for example.

It's likely that Infinity Ward will fix this Gulag exploit in a future update for Call of Duty: Warzone. When that may be is anyone's guess, but fans will want to keep an eye on upcoming patch notes to find out more.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
