Call of Duty: Warzone has brought the battle royale genre to the hugely popular Call of Duty series. As a result, Warzone has been a hit for Infinity Ward and many players continue to enjoy the experience. Alongside solid battle royale gameplay, Warzone has had a series of updates to keep players satisfied and engaged. Despite the steady stream of content and improvements, it does seem that some players are still encountering annoying bugs, some of which have existed for some time.
The battle royale setting that has gas enclose players as they battle to be the last person or team standing and this makes Warzone a game that causes a great deal of tension. Naturally, glitches in Warzone are not appreciated in stressful and high stake moments and it seems that despite several updates, a glitch with a knife persists. This led to one player having an unfortunate experience when they were fighting for redeployment in the Gulag.
The player was able to get an advantage on an opponent and begin an execution, which is simply done by holding down the melee button, but disaster struck and they ended up dying. This was not because the opposition was counter-attacking but simply because they were holding a knife. Players have managed to escape executions by holding a knife in Warzone in previous seasons and, surprisingly, the issue persists. While other instances had shown players dropping a knife into an opponent this time it seems that the player escaped certain death by simply having the weapon equipped.
The game has also had issues with finishing moves not killing enemies and it seems that this aspect of the game needs some tweaking despite its cool animations. While Warzone is supplying players with content, the game must manage to deliver mechanics that work and don't lead to frustrating situations like this one. Whether Infinity Ward will address this issue remains to be seen and it has currently been present for at least two months.
Some players may start equipping knives for there lethal capabilities in this kind of situation for the future. However, most players will hope that Call of Duty: Warzone achieves a level of consistency with its finishing moves so that players can implement them with a degree of certainty and integrate them into their game.
Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
