An overpowered shotgun is dominating in Call of Duty: Warzone as players discover the Maelstrom Dual Trigger attachment for the Lockwood 300 is once again available in the game's new Supreme Resurgence mode. Following the release of Call of Duty: Warzone's Season 5 Reloaded update on August 21, the community promptly realized that the meta attachment was suddenly available, but many expect a patch to already be in the works.
The Lockwood 300 most certainly isn't considered to be one of the best shotguns in Call of Duty, but when a new DOOM-inspired bundle hit the Warzone store in 2023, it quickly rose to become the new meta weapon. Alongside a quirky visual style that was reminiscent of the original DOOM, the blueprint also included the Maelstrom Dual Trigger attachment, which allowed players to fire both of the shotgun's rounds simultaneously and take out opponents with ease.
Call of Duty: Warzone Temporarily Disables Popular Killstreak
Developers disable a popular Call of Duty: Warzone Killstreak after bugs emerge that enable unscrupulous players to gain a competitive advantage.
Although Warzone nerfed the Maelstrom Dual Trigger just one month after the DOOM bundle's release, the attachment was eventually disabled. However, Activision appears to have made the dual-shot trigger available to use once again following the release of Warzone's Season 5 Reloaded update. Various YouTubers, such as Legends6K and tcTekk, are bringing attention to the attachment's return, but it is currently only available to use in Warzone's new Supreme Resurgence game mode.
Warzone's One-Shot DOOM Shotgun Returns
Supreme Resurgence was one of the many new modes added to Call of Duty with Season 5 Reloaded. While it may play similarly to the game's standard Resurgence mode, the key difference is in the loot. Players will find Rebirth Island filled with some incredible ground loot and plenty of meta-inspired weapon blueprints. However, the exchange for these overpowered weapons is an increase in the price of loadouts and an extended Resurgence timer.
It's unclear if the return of the one-shot Lockwood 300 is intentional or an accident, but given how meta the weapon has become in the mode, fans are urged to make the most of it in case Activision does opt to disable the Maelstrom Dual Trigger attachment once again. While the DOOM bundle isn't currently available to purchase, players can simply create a new Lockwood 300 class and equip the Maelstrom Dual Trigger to get the exact same experience. Although it won't feature the same framerate animation found in the bundle, it will still take out opponents in a single shot.
Call of Duty: Warzone's Season 5 Reloaded update didn't just add Supreme Resurgence into the mix, though, as players can also check out the new Elite Contracts and experience a new Public Event known as Recon Flyover, which sees two waves of Advanced UAVs expose enemies who don't move out of range quick enough. Although the update didn't add any new weapons, the Lockwood 300 re-emerging as the new meta shotgun is more than enough reason to check out the update before an inevitable nerf is deployed.
