This occurs because the Microsoft Store version of the game lists players as Xbox users in lobbies, allowing PC cheaters to disguise their activities as if they were playing on Xbox.

The developers encouraged players to report any suspected cheaters through the in-game reporting system, regardless of their platform, so these cases can be thoroughly investigated.

Mixed Reactions from Players Following Call of Duty's Announcement on Cheating Surge

Additionally, the Call of Duty team reiterated their commitment to combating cheating, taking down cheat vendors, and ensuring that all players can enjoy a fair and competitive gaming experience. While this announcement appears to be a positive step, the community's response has been mixed. Some players express frustration, suggesting that the anti-cheat system needs a major overhaul to be effective. Others argue that in-game reporting should be unnecessary with a more advanced detection system and that this could also help avoid problems like the shadow-ban loop. Raging Nation, one of the largest cheat providers, announced its shutdown after a member received a legal notice from Activision. Additionally, another cheat provider, Stealthware, has also been targeted by Activision.
