A new Call of Duty: Warzone update just landed for July 2025, and it's bringing some notable shifts to the battle royale’s current landscape. While the patch addresses a batch of bug fixes, most of the attention is on weapon balancing. Several guns, including the AMES 85 and GPR 91, have been tweaked in ways that are expected to shake up how Call of Duty: Warzone matches play out.

July 2 marked a big day with the arrival of Warzone Season 4 Reloaded, which came packed with new content and gameplay tweaks. One of the more surprising additions was the Beavis & Butt-Head event. Players can grind across Multiplayer or Zombies to rack up XP and unlock themed rewards like the Olympia Special weapon and the Pickaxe Melee weapon.

Call of Duty: Warzone Players Are Divided Over New Season 4 Field Upgrade

A new field upgrade for Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 has sparked controversy among fans, as players debate whether or not it is a good addition.

Now, just days after Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 Reloaded went live, the latest patch is already layering in more changes, especially around weapon feel and performance. One of the bigger shifts is aimed at long-range firefights: visual recoil for Black Ops 6 weapons has been reduced when using 2x, 3x, or 4x scopes, making these weapons easier to control from a distance. On top of that, strafing while aiming down sights has been toned down for Modern Warfare 2 and 3 weapons, helping with accuracy and general responsiveness.

A few Assault Rifles received direct stat changes. Call of Duty: Warzone's AMES 85 got a bump in both max and mid-range damage - from 31.7m to 35.5m and 40.6m to 45.7m, respectively. The GPR 91 saw similar improvements, with its max damage range now 38m, medium range at 49.5m, and a slightly better lower torso multiplier at 0.85x. Its ADS speed was also tightened up to 230ms. As for the Kilo 141, bullet velocity has been pushed from 870m/s to 905m/s, which should make it more dependable at longer ranges.

Not all guns got a buff, though. The KRIG C was slightly nerfed: damage to the lower torso, arms, and legs is now 0.95x instead of a flat 1x. Call of Duty: Warzone's DM-10 Marksman Rifle took the biggest hit in this patch. That rifle’s damage multipliers dropped across the board - arms, lower torso, and legs all down to 0.8x. Its bullet velocity also dipped from 920m/s to 850m/s, and ADS time slowed from 330ms to 360ms. Landing clean shots with it is going to matter more now.

Outside of weapon changes, this Call of Duty: Warzone patch clears up several bugs. Crashes in the pre-match lobby have been addressed, UI issues in the loadout menu were fixed, and some missing spray unlock requirements were corrected. Havoc Royale mode got pacing tweaks via rebalanced modifiers, and in Ranked Play: Resurgence, Portable Redeploy Drones have been disabled for now.
