Call of Duty Next has kicked off with an explosive trailer that showcases both Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. The next few months are set to be absolutely massive for Call of Duty fans, as Activision is gearing up to release the highly-anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as well as the Warzone 2 battle royale.

The reveal trailer started with a focus on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, showcasing a variety of the maps that players will be able to battle it out in during the beta and at launch. It also gave fans a look at some of the new features that they will get to utilize in this game, like aquatic gameplay, as well as some of the weapons and gadgets they will have access to. Fan favorite gadgets like the heartbeat sensor return, and more controversial abilities like the juggernaut suit are also back in the new game.

Call of Duty fans can spot new game modes that will be featured in the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer in the trailer. This includes Prisoner Rescue, where one team has to save a hostage and the other team has to stop them. It will be interesting to see how the Call of Duty community reacts to this new mode, and luckily, it will be featured in the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta, which will be available this weekend for PlayStation gamers.

Once the trailer is done showing off the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer experience, it switches gears and puts the attention on the Warzone 2 battle royale experience. Players can see Call of Duty: Warzone 2 soldiers jump out of a plane onto the battle royale map. The focus then shifts to vehicular combat, which includes jeeps, helicopters, and boats. Players will have a variety of ways to counter vehicles in Warzone 2, including an explosive drone and an EMP knife.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 reveal trailer ended with a new look at Gunsmith. The popular Gunsmith weapon customization feature is making a big comeback in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, with players able to fully customize their weapons. Gunsmith has even more options this time around, so it will definitely be interesting to see how big of an impact it's going to have on the meta moving forward.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
