Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies fans are looking forward to Season 2’s main quest easter egg, but that is not all the mode will be getting. The next Season of Call of Duty: Vanguard will also introduce new Wonder Weapons and a fresh map for Zombies fans to play.

Treyarch confirmed these additions via a 115 Day blog post, giving fans some things to be excited about for the next Season. However, outside of saying that Wonder Weapons and another map were coming, Treyarch did not provide details on what the map or guns would be like. Fortunately, a reputable Call of Duty leaker known as @_Nanikos_ has found a bit more info in the game’s files, giving players an idea of what to expect from the upcoming additions.

Alongside a list of the new Operators coming in Season 2 and 3, and the multiplayer map lineup for Season 2, Zombies players will be seeing the Coolgun added in a few weeks’ time. The Coolgun Wonder Weapon leaked recently, and while some speculated that it would be ice-based due to its name, it seems like @_Nanikos_ has found more data that hints it could just be the classic Ray Gun. The title “Coolgun” could simply be a codename used by Treyarch, though fans will have to wait until Season 2 releases to know for sure.

As for the brand-new Wonder Weapon, it will apparently take the form of a shield. In the past, players have been able to wield different buildable shields, with a few having unique designs and abilities. None were considered Wonder Weapons, however, so it will be interesting to see how Treyarch makes a shield-based item worthy of that title. Perhaps it could be throwable like Captain America’s shield, though this is purely speculation. No details have been provided regarding how these Season 2 Wonder Weapons are acquired, so it is unclear if players will get them both from the Mystery Box or obtain them through quests.

As for the new Zombies map, it is codenamed “skorpion.” Unfortunately, it seems like those hoping for a classic round-based style are out of luck, as three areas are listed separately. Players will likely teleport to “hall,” “oasis,” and “dark” to complete various objectives like in Der Anfang. Intriguingly, there is a desert map in Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer named Oasis, so Treyarch could be reusing assets for this location. The codename “dark” could hint at a Dark Aether area, which would be a fun change of pace, while “hall” is harder to pin down.

With Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 2 recently delayed, players will be waiting until February 14 to try this content. Hopefully, the new map and much-needed Wonder Weapons meet the Zombies community’s expectations.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
