Call of Duty: Vanguard, like the Call of Duty games before it, is a sort of balancing act for the developers. Thanks to Gunsmith, there are countless possible weapon combinations, giving Call of Duty: Vanguard players free range to edit their loadouts and alter the stats of the guns in the game. Sometimes these combinations lead to overpowered weapons, and that's exactly the case with a new attachment combination for the MP40.
TikTok user polos.exe posted a video showcasing an overpowered Call of Duty: Vanguard MP40 attachment combination that seems to make the weapon overpowered to the point of being broken. It's likely that developer Sledgehammer Games will release a patch to address this problem at some point, but in the meantime, MP40 users in Call of Duty: Vanguard can put together an especially powerful loadout.
Putting together this particular Call of Duty: Vanguard MP40 loadout is going to require some footwork first, however. The attachments needed to make the loadout aren't unlocked until Call of Duty: Vanguard players fully level up the gun, and so players will need to get the MP40 all the way to level 70 before they can do this.
Call of Duty: Vanguard MP40 OP Loadout Attachments
- Barrel: VDD 189mm Short (unlocks at level 50)
- Magazine: 8mm KURZ 32 Round Mags (unlocks at level 70)
- Ammo Type: Hollow Point (unlocks at level 44)
Once the Call of Duty: Vanguard MP40 hits level 44, players will unlock the first attachment they need for this loadout, the Hollow Point bullets. Then when Call of Duty: Vanguard players hit level 50 with the MP40, they will unlock the VDD 189MM Short barrel. And finally, leveling up the Call of Duty: Vanguard MP40 all the way to level 70 will unlock the recommended 8mm KURZ 32 Round Mags. As seen in the video, these attachments on the MP40 should increase the weapon's time to kill dramatically and give players a serious edge in online multiplayer matches.
It's quite likely that Sledgehammer Games will release a patch to reel the MP40 back a bit, especially since weapon balance updates have already been pushed out for the game. Just recently, Call of Duty: Vanguard nerfed shotguns with an update, though many players feel as though the nerfs didn't go far enough.
Like all Call of Duty games, fans can expect multiple updates for Call of Duty: Vanguard as Sledgehammer works to address balance issues and make the game as fair as possible. This will cause an ever-shifting meta of the "best" guns in the game, but right now it seems the MP40 with the right attachments is a pretty solid choice for any putting together their Call of Duty: Vanguard loadouts.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
