The Call of Duty Season 4 Reloaded update is adding characters and elements from The Boys, such as a playable Homelander and the superpower-granting Temp-V drug. Call of Duty’s Season 4 DLC wave is in full swing, bringing plenty of new maps, weapons, and gameplay changes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone, such as a Gulag expansion for the popular Vondel map and tweaks to various existing guns like the 556 Icarus.

Call of Duty has also had its fair share of crossover content over the past few years, even before Season 4. In 2020, The Haunting of Verdansk event saw famed slashers Jigsaw from the Saw franchise and Leatherface of Texas Chainsaw Massacre fame haunting players in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, and the equally villainous Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was introduced as an Operator skin during Season 2 a few months back. There was even a special Call of Duty/Crash Bandicoot crossover to promote the recent Crash Team Rumble, but it was briefly pulled from COD’s online store due to a pricing error.

Earlier this week, Activision announced that the newest Call of Duty Season 4 DLC would introduce three playable characters from the hit Amazon Prime series The Boys. According to the patch notes on the official Call of Duty website, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded DLC adds Starlight on July 12, Homelander on July 16, and Black Noir on July 20, complete with specialized weapons and perks. Players will also be able to gain temporary superpowers by collecting the Temp-V pick-up, which grants its user enhanced jumping, Electric Shockwaves, and Laser Vision.

In addition to these new playable The Boys skins and weapons, Call of Duty Season 4 Reloaded is adding new playable events themed after the show in the form of special challenges that can be completed to unlock a new universal camo and Weapon Charm. There is also a new weapon called the MX Guardian, a 12-gauge automatic shotgun. Finally, a new Operator named Izzy is available as part of the Tracer Pack: Izzy Operator Bundle.

The Boys remains one of the most successful adaptations of an independent comic book in the past few years, and Homelander could appear in more than just Call of Duty. A recent leak from Amazon seems to hint that Vought International’s super-powered enforcer might be included in Mortal Kombat 1 as a DLC character following previous rumors of his appearance. In the meantime, Call of Duty fans will be able to blast, shoot, and murder their way across Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone as some of The Boys’ most powerful Supers thanks to the Season 4 Reloaded update.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone are available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
