A new survey from Call of Duty is reportedly asking fans what they would like to see from the franchise's upcoming live-action movie. The long-awaited adaptation was finally made official earlier this month, but now Call of Duty publisher Activision is seemingly hinting at potential story details as it asks the community if it wants to see an existing subseries, such as Modern Warfare or Black Ops, adapted for the big screen, or a new story entirely.
After dominating the gaming space for well over two decades now, fans have often called for Activision to adapt the Call of Duty franchise into a TV show or live-action movie. While previous attempts have proven futile, the publisher finally confirmed earlier this month that it was teaming up with Paramount to finally bring fans a Call of Duty movie adaptation. Details on a plot, director, cast, and release date are still unknown, which means it's likely going to be quite some time before fans are watching it on the big screen. But, with that being said, the ball is definitely rolling on the project, as a new survey wants players' thoughts.

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies giving players more freedom with playable characters seems good on paper, there’s an elephant in the room.
Call of Duty Survey Asks Fans About Live-Action Movie
Following the announcement earlier this month, one of the biggest questions fans have had is whether or not the live-action Call of Duty movie will adapt an existing storyline, such as Modern Warfare or Black Ops, or if it will take an entirely different direction and create a brand-new plot and cast of characters. While these details are still to be confirmed, a recent survey (via Detonated) has revealed that Activision and Paramount are exploring all avenues. The latest Recon Survey reportedly asks fans if they'd like the adaptation to be inspired by Black Ops, Modern Warfare, Call of Duty Zombies, a separate title, such as Ghosts or Advanced Warfare, or a new story entirely.
While Call of Duty: Ghosts, Advanced Warfare, and many more standalone entries in the series all have exceptional stories that could easily be adapted for the big screen, many die-hard fans are eager to see some iconic Call of Duty characters appear in the movie, many of which originate from either the Black Ops or Modern Warfare subseries. From Captain Price to Frank Woods and everybody in between, the Black Ops and Modern Warfare series have been going on for decades, which would give a movie adaptation plenty of source material to work with.
Something fans are also eager to know is who will direct the Call of Duty movie. While its cast, actors, and plot are all vital elements, a director can make or break a project like this. When a Call of Duty movie was first attempted many years ago, Sicario 2: Soldado's Stefano Sollima was attached to direct. There was reportedly also interest from Jaws and E.T. Director Steven Spielberg, but Activision was supposedly spooked at the thought of the famed director having full creative control over the project.
