For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone players, there are few better times to jump into a match than during double-XP events. Luckily for those trying to gain a few levels, Infinity Ward has announced the date for the next double-XP event for both Modern Warfare and Warzone, and it's only a few days away.
Starting on July 17 at 10 am PST and running until July 20, Modern Warfare and Warzone players will earn double-XP while playing the game. It's a good way to gain a few extra levels and grind out remaining levels before Season 4 ends. Plus, double weapon XP will also be active, so anyone looking to score some new unlocks for their arsenal should have a far easier time doing so.
In addition to the XP bump, Modern Warfare is getting a playlist update. Starting today, Modern Warfare players will have access to Party Mode Moshpit and Shoothouse & Cheshire Park 24/7. Meanwhile, Warzone players will gain access to Plunder Trios, one of Warzone's popular playlists. It's a setup for a fun weekend, one that players should take advantage of if they wish to earn some quick ranks.
Double-XP events are nothing new in Call of Duty, but they're also one of the most exciting times to play the game. The events always bring in an influx of players, keeping matches stacked and matchmaking times short. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are insanely popular, so matchmaking times tend not to be an issue — with the exception of bugs — but additional players are always nice.
Three days is also a decent amount of time for double-XP, so players should have plenty of time to take full advantage of the boost. It's a good way to prepare for Modern Warfare Season 5, which should pack in all new surprises and changes for fans of the game. There are plenty of teases for what may come, and fans are excited for those teases to pay off.
There's still no word on what Call of Duty 2020 will entail, or even a potential reveal date, but fans, presumably, should hear something soon, as the game should be launching in a few months. Until then, at least they have Modern Warfare to enjoy.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
