Call of Duty: Modern Warfare may be getting a bit overshadowed by the recently released Warzone battle royale right now, but that doesn't mean that there aren't some things in the base game that need attention right now. Case in point, a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fan recently uploaded a clip to Reddit that shows them seeing straight through smoke without using a thermal scope.

The clip was uploaded by Reddit user Reg3tti and has nearly 20,000 upvotes at the time of this writing. The bug happens in Modern Warfare when players have an Integral Hybrid Optic sight equipped to their gun, allowing them to see through smoke without needing a thermal scope or even needing to aim down the sights. This allowed Reg3tti to get a cheap kill on their opponent while playing on the Zhokov Boneyard Ground War map.

This is a bug that has been brought up by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans in the past. However, Infinity Ward has yet to fix the issue, for whatever reason. Perhaps this clip getting so much extra attention will finally convince Infinity Ward to issue a response and look into patching this bug in an upcoming update for the game.

While it's hard to say when this specific problem will be fixed in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, it's worth pointing out that Infinity Ward releases updates for the game on a regular basis. So it's possible that a fix for this particular Modern Warfare bug will come with next week's inevitable update, though fans should keep their expectations in check until more details about the next patch are released to the public.

Since Call of Duty: Warzone is so popular and so new, it's possible that it will receive more attention than the standard multiplayer for the next few weeks. After all, while the latest update added new playlists to Modern Warfare, most of the bug fixes detailed in the patch notes were for Warzone.

Even though it seems like Infinity Ward is favoring Warzone at the moment, Modern Warfare fans shouldn't worry about their game being forgotten. Modern Warfare Season 2 is in full swing, and Season 3 is on the way as well. Fans can expect more maps, modes, guns, and more for Modern Warfare throughout the year, even in the face of Warzone's staggering popularity.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
