While it seems most of the attention is given to Warzone nowadays, there are still millions of people playing the standard Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer on a daily basis. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans can download the big Season 4 update now to get even more content, including new maps for regular multiplayer, Gunfight, and Ground War.

The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer map will actually look familiar to longtime fans of the franchise, as it's the celebrated return of Modern Warfare 2's Scrapyard. Scrapyard's addition to Modern Warfare always seemed like it was just a matter of time, as the map already existed in the game's Warzone mode. Anyone excited to play Scrapyard has a great opportunity to do so this week, as Infinity Ward is highlighting it in the Scrapyard 24/7 playlist.

Meanwhile, those that enjoy the 2v2 Gunfight mode can check out the new Trench map, which is available in a special moshpit playlist. And finally, those that prefer the large-scale battles of Ground War can check out Barakett Promenade, which has also made its Modern Warfare debut as part of the big Season 4 update.

As Modern Warfare Season 4 continues, it's likely that there will be even more maps added to the game. Past Modern Warfare seasons saw a mid-season "refresh" where a slew of new content was added, and there's no reason to think Modern Warfare Season 4 will be any different. That being said, no other new maps have been announced so far.

While no future Modern Warfare Season 4 maps have been revealed, Infinity Ward has detailed some of the content that will be added later in the season. This will include a few new game modes for multiplayer, including a twist on One in the Chamber, Team Defender, and All or Nothing. Warzone, meanwhile, will be getting a realism mode as well as a variant called Juggernaut Royale.

Fans should standby for more information on that new content. But in the meantime, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans can download the massive Season 4 update to try out the new maps that were added overnight.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
