After months of build up and hype, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is finally available and brings players a new take on the classic 2007 title. This year's game also introduces a number of franchise altering changes alongside a brand new engine to power the experience. In addition to no season pass, no loot boxes, and a completely revamped progression system, players can now also take advantage of cross-play across all three major platforms.
Without the usual season pass, the multiplayer community will have a much easier time staying together instead of being segmented into those who own the content and those who don't. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare brings with it a fairly robust multiplayer experience this year with returning fan favorite maps like Terminal and a bevy of modes including the 64 player Ground War mode and the more intimate Gunfight.
As expected, players have a wealth of customization options in mutliplayer from their loadout, perks, and even the look of their character. The game features 18 different characters to pick from, though players will need to unlock most of them when first launching the game. These operators don't have different abilities such as specialists in past Call of Duty games, but they offer a different look, dialogue, and executions.
