The Call of Duty: Modern Gunfight Tournament is back, letting players battle it out in 2v2 Gunfight for a chance to be declared the victors. Like the last time Gunfight Tournament was in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, participating lets players win exclusive rewards, with different rewards given out depending on how far players advance in the bracket.
This time around, participating in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Gunfight Tournament preliminaries will net players the "Cover Me" Calling Card and 500 XP. Quarter finalists will get the Bloodiest Diamond Charm and 1,000 XP. Those that advance to the semi-finals will get the "Death Awaits" Calling Card and 2,0000 XP. And those that win the tournament will get their hands on the Riptide M7 blueprint and a whopping 5,0000 XP.
While some players may not be inspired to participate in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Gunfight Tournament for the cosmetic rewards, it is dishing out quite a bit of XP. So players who are hoping to level up fast may want to take advantage of this mode while they can. It's unclear how long the Gunfight Tournaments will be available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but the original version of the game mode was only in the game for a limited time before disappearing for weeks.
Gunfight Tournaments is just one of the Gunfight variants that Infinity Ward has introduced to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare so far. There's also been Gunfight OSP, which forces players to loot equipment instead of everyone starting off on an even playing field, not to mention 3v3 Gunfight. 3v3 Gunfight has gotten another twist in the form of a Snipers Only mode that was added to the game alongside the big Season 2 update.
The Modern Warfare Season 2 update was originally advertised to include Gunfight Tournaments, though it missed Day One for whatever reason. Luckily, Modern Warfare fans didn't have to wait long to jump back into Gunfight Tournaments, as the mode was added as part of the Valentine's Day playlist update.
The Modern Warfare Valentine's Day playlist update also changed the name of various other playlists to things like "Double Date" and "Punish Me." Fans who enjoy the comedic playlist names will want to get their fill this weekend as they're likely to switch back on Monday or Tuesday.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
