Summary

  • One Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 player posted an impressive clip to Reddit.
  • The clip shows the player hitting an incoming thermite out of the air with a shock stick while on the game's Shipment map.
  • The feat would be almost impossible to do on purpose, let alone accidentally.

A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 player managed to hit an incoming thermite with their own shock stick, making for a surprising moment and a thrilling display. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players who have been enjoying the game's fourth season are now looking ahead to Season 5, which is right around the corner. Call of Duty has already teased a collaboration with WWE, and more details are expected to emerge over the next few weeks as Season 4 winds down.

Outside Call of Duty's vast roster of customizable weapons, Modern Warfare 3 features a set of throwable items that players can choose to have at their disposal. Split into lethal and non-lethal equipment, Call of Duty's shock stick is one of the latter. When thrown, the shock stick attaches itself to any surface, even to enemies, and, as its name implies, electrocutes any opponents who get too close. Unlucky players who are caught by one are momentarily stuck in place, involuntarily hip-firing their weapon as they take damage. Their depleted magazine then puts them at a disadvantage when they're free from the shock stick's effects.

Two Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 fans utilize 3D artistry to remove all the rust from the latest version of the Modern Warfare 2 Rust map.

One player helped create a near-impossible moment in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. On Reddit, DopeyLake0352 posted a short eight-second clip showing them hitting an incoming thermite out of the air with a shock stick while playing on Call of Duty's Shipment map. The midair collision caused both throwables to trigger on top of one another, making for an incredible display. A moment like this would be difficult to produce on purpose, so the fact that it happened naturally in the heat of the moment is wildly impressive.

Modern Warfare 3 Player Hits Thermite Out Of Air With Shock Stick

This moment was already stunning enough, but adding to the spectacle was the thermite's dazzling firework particle effects due to it featuring the Burning Dragon thermite skin from Call of Duty's Lunar New Year bundle, as pointed out by one commenter under the post. It makes sense that such a moment would take place on Modern Warfare 3's Shipment, considering it's the game's smallest map and is widely known for the fast, chaotic, and explosive nature of its matches.

While it doesn't seem like more throwables will be added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, there's still much more content on the way, such as new maps, modes, weapons, and crossovers when Season 5 arrives, likely in early August. Beyond Season 5, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is coming in October and is sure to introduce a new set of fun throwables players can use in the heat of battle.
