- However, this new version features a clever twist on that classic formula, manipulating the other player using text chat.
Over the years, Call of Duty players have created some of the most iconic and memorable moments in the franchise, and one Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 player has recreated a funny video from the OG Modern Warfare 2 days. Modern Warfare 3 (2023) is the latest installment of the popular CoD franchise, which has seen some remarkable titles over the past two decades. MW3 was released on November 10 amid a lot of hype and anticipation, and even enjoyed impressive sales in its first week of launch, though the game's success was short-lived.
Before the game's release, it was speculated that Activation rushed the development of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which seems to explain why the game seems to have reruns of content from previous installments. For instance, MW3 contains several maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), as well as several features and weapons from its namesake, Modern Warfare 2 (2022). Another thing that may have irked fans is the MW3's Prestige system, which enables gamers to reset their rank after achieving the highest level. The system won't be in place until the launch of Season 1 in December, which could demotivate fans.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Players Can No Longer Trust Boarded Windows
A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies player discovers that boarded windows can no longer keep the undead out, making things more challenging.
Social media is full of Call of Duty videos, with many gamers creating moments that are still viral after many years. 14 years ago, a CoD: MW2 player climbed on the rooftop of a building and snuck up behind another player who was in the prone position, taking them out as soon as they turned around. Recently, a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 player recreated the moment with a twist. While sneaking up behind the target, the user, Corpas_, wrote "turn around" on the gameplay chat. As soon as the target turned, they were eliminated with a headshot. Corpas_ uploaded a montage of the two videos on r/ModernWarfare3. Interestingly, both moments feature the Derail map, since MW3 has the same maps as the OG MW2.
Most fans agree that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) is one of the best CoD games developed by Infinity Ward, and it became quite popular among gamers for its entertaining content, high-paced gameplay, and numerous action-packed modes. Its multiplayer mode was well-received by fans, who created some unforgettable moments with their peers. Even though the game was launched 14 years ago, many players still enjoy playing it as a form of nostalgia.
Given the mixed reviews and low ratings that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has received, it is unlikely that the game won't be able to live up to the original Modern Warfare series. Moreover, Sledgehammer Games could have improved upon the multiplayer mode by adding the fan-favorite CoD Gunfight mode at launch, though it is planned to launch sometime next month within the Season 1 update. With it's return, gamers are likely going to try and recreate more funny moments like this.
