Activision has revealed the PlayStation exclusive Lockpick Operator skin pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. This will be available to players who pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on the PlayStation store, and will be unlocked when the game launches in November.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the third title in the rebooted Modern Warfare series. This will continue the story of the Captain Price-led Task Force 141, who will go up against a familiar antagonist, Vladimir Makarov. Additionally, General Shepherd and Phillip Graves from the 2022 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will also possibly be a part of the game, which could have interesting consequences for its story. Now, during the recent Call of Duty Next event, Activision has unveiled some additional incentives for PlayStation users.
In a video posted on Call of Duty’s official YouTube channel, the Lockpick Operator bundle was revealed as a pre-order bonus, exclusive to PlayStation users. This will include access to the character skin, along with the Amrican Gothic and Starry Knife weapon blueprints. In addition to this, PlayStation users also get to play the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 demo around 5 days before any other platform.
Activision is looking to change the way players experience the game’s campaign with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 by introducing Open Combat Missions. These will also allow players to take a stealth or all-out guns blazing approach to individual missions, allowing them to use the vehicles and objects in the mission area to their advantage. Aside from this, it is also bringing back the fan-favorite slide cancel and red dot minimap features to the game, which is a decision the community has hailed. Looking at some of the Modern Warfare 3 footage released by Activision, fans have theorized that a mission similar to the "No Russian" mission from the 2009 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 could also be a part of the upcoming title.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s Zombies mode is also getting an overhaul, where it now has an open-world setting as opposed to a round-based mode. With the new Zombies mode, players will be able to team up with other squads to survive against the undead, and will also have several classic and new weapons to use against them. Interestingly, this mode will be set in the new Call of Duty: Warzone map called Urzikstan.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches November 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
