Grinding for guns and camo in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 involves more than just farming kills and winning games. The vast majority of advanced challenges require players to perform a variety of combat feats, and that includes getting multikills.
Modern Warfare 3: How to Get the Abolisher Operator Skin
Want to get the Abolisher operator skin in Modern Warfare 3? Here’s everything you need to know.
Series veterans should already be familiar with how this mechanic works, but players who are new to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 might be scratching their heads as to what exactly they need to do. Scoring multikills isn't complicated by any means, but it can be quite difficult for those who are just starting out.
What Are Multikills in MW3?
Simply put, a multikill is a special kill performed by defeating two or more opponents in quick succession. Rapidly eliminating enemies within a second or two of each other is enough to count as a multikill. Fury Kills also count as multikills, except these have a four-kill minimum requirement.
Players can get multikills using anything at their disposal as long as the kills are chained quickly. What the game doesn't immediately say is that double, triple, and quad kills also count as multikills despite not being called such in the score feed that appears next to the crosshair. Players will only see Multikill pop-up on the score feed if they get five or more rapid kills. As far as challenges are concerned, even a double kill is enough to make progress with.

These are the best weapons, items, killstreaks, and perks available in Call of Duty's new Armory Unlock system.
The best way to get multikills in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is to play in the Hardcore playlist. Everyone is much more vulnerable here, and a single burst from an automatic weapon is enough to take down any target. Alternatively, players can load up a special playlist like Rustment 24/7 and try their luck there. Shipment may just be the best map for scoring multikills, as the general chaos of games played there gives all players enough opportunity to pop off.
For general matches, machine guns offer the best chance at scoring multikills thanks to their good damage over range and high magazine capacities. The Pulemyot 762 with the JAK Annihilator conversion kit is especially good for wiping out multiple enemies at once — with the kit installed, players can create a fast-moving Tac Stance build for the gun that can out-duel even SMGs at close-mid range.
In small, chaotic maps like Shipment, players might have an easier time getting multikills if they use a shotgun. The Riveter is a good choice for this since it can be equipped with a 30-round magazine with Incendiary Shells. However, any shotgun should be viable except for the double-barreled Lockwood 300.
