Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is adding horror-themed maps named Drive Thru and Mad Cow in Season 6. The Haunting has become somewhat of a tradition for Call of Duty players, as it adds plenty of spooky festivities for players to enjoy. The Halloween-themed addition first appeared in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone in 2021, so the Modern Warfare 3 iteration of this event will be its third edition so far. This seasonal event could show up at some point in Black Ops 6, but that is not confirmed yet.

Fans of classic horror movies may enjoy the return of the Halloween franchise's Michael Meyers as a Call of Duty Operator. New maps named Drive Thru and Mad Cow are coming in Modern Warfare 3 Season 6 and were recently showcased in a trailer. These maps are described as "punishment grounds," 6v6 arenas for players to fight it out. Drive Thru is a restaurant drenched in killer clown-theming. Not only is this a reference to the trope of killer clowns in horror media, but it's also a strong nod to the Terrifier series. Fans of the character and movies will have the chance to grab Art the Clown as an Operator once The Haunting begins.

Mad Cow's style is more evocative of the slaughterhouse that characters in movies like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are found in. Its straightforward connection to the aesthetic of classic horror may be why players feel like Halloween's Michael Meyers fits so perfectly here. Although glimpses of Michael can be seen in the trailer for these maps in Drive Thru, he is more prominently shown in Mad Cow. Ultimately, it will be up to players to decide which horror icons show up as they partake in The Haunting.

Although fans may appreciate the presence of these characters, like The Walking Dead's Daryl Dixon as Operators for the upcoming season, the maps are part of the vibe and can add to the entire experience. In addition, there are five new Shipment variant maps on the way for Season 6: Arena Shipment, Stay High, Bit-ment, Ghost Ship, and Sunny Shipment. It seems like there will be plenty for players to engage with this season.
