A clip released by a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 player has shown how throwing knives are currently broken in the game. Gamers have used throwing knives for some brilliant Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 clips, but in some situations players are facing issues with them in the game’s current state.

Infinity Ward’s latest shooter continues to get a steady stream of new content for players to enjoy. Season 3 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 brought a classic weapon back to the game in the form of the Intervention, bringing many players who had long abandoned the series back into the fold. It’s unknown how much longer Infinity Ward plans to support the game beyond the release of Call of Duty 2023, but gamers will be hoping it takes some extra time to ensure Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 gets as much new content as possible.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 throwing knife issue was pointed out by Redditor FMQ0, who showed off a clip where the knife simply bounces off an enemy’s head. With a slow-motion replay, it’s clear that it should have killed the enemy, and it’s unknown exactly why it didn’t. Some in the thread theorized that it’s an issue with the geometry on Shipment, though the knife doesn’t land anywhere near the barrels seen in the clip. Ultimately, there’s no way to truly know the cause, but it certainly isn’t the player’s fault here.

It seems as though the game has had some issues with Equipment items not quite working as intended so far. Some players also feel that Semtex is broken in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with it also not killing gamers, in what can likely be attributed to a glitch. It isn’t even clear how long this throwing knife glitch has been part of the game. Up to now, it’s unknown how aware Infinity Ward is about these issues, but so far the developer hasn’t acknowledged or fixed either of them.

So far, the game has been plagued with many strange glitches that have left the community baffled. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Season 3 Battle Pass UI was launched stretched, and while that bug was quickly fixed, players were confused as to how it happened in the first place. While players largely like the game, there’s definitely a feeling that Infinity Ward should fix the content that’s currently in the title before adding even more that could potentially end up broken, too.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
