Big things are happening in the Call of Duty Mobile community as the developers reveal details to an upcoming weapon. After mixing in fan-favorite content from across the entire Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty Mobile is preparing for its Season 9 release.
Not much is known about the next Season but fans have come to expect a lot from the Call of Duty Mobile development team. The developers have been able to consistently keep the game fresh every season by adding in fan-favorite modes, maps, cosmetics, and weapons. Apparently something much bigger is right around the corner as anticipation for Season 9 continues to grow.
After unveiling the community update on August 1, the Call of Duty Mobile developers decided to take questions from fans. It was when one fan asked for details and themes for the season, as well as information about a brand-new weapon, that they gave an answer that shook the community to its core and started a swarm of rumors. "We should have direct mention of that new weapon relatively soon on social media and through in-game announcements, but it is actually an entirely new type of weapon. The first of its type," said the development team.
The Call of Duty Mobile community is abuzz with discussion as to what a new weapon would look like. Thoughts of unconventional weapons currently in the game, like a Riot Shield or Ray gun, fly through fans heads as they try to figure out what new type of weapon is awaiting fans in the next Season.
There is a wealth of Call of Duty history for the weapon to come from, and that is assuming the developers are pulling it from another game. With all the strange announcements throughout 2020, it would not be outside of Activision's realm of possibilities to create an entirely new weapon category for the mobile title.
With Call of Duty Mobile Season 9 just around the corner it will not be too terribly long before fans get the answers they are searching for. There was one major addition that was confirmed during the Q&A session, the Black Ops III Razorback will be returning to the game for a second time. The developers added that the "whole weapon system, in general, will be changing," in the next mobile update.
Call of Duty Mobile is available on iOS and Android devices.
