Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's campaign offers several achievements or trophies to players for completing challenges across each mission. In the second mission of the main story, Precious Cargo, players will have a chance to unlock the Floater Trophy/Achievement. Players will first need to gear up in the first Open Combat Area mission of the Modern Warfare 3 (2023) campaign by searching the area for two critical pieces of equipment: The parachute and the ascender.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – How To Beat Deep Cover (& Back In The Field Achievement)
The Modern Warfare 3 mission, Deep Cover, involves infiltration and blending in to succeed and get the Back in the Field achievement.
Finding the Parachute and Ascender
At the start of the mission, head North toward the cargo ship. If this is the player's first playthrough of the mission and they only have the Gutter Knife equipped, players can find some weapon supply crates in the D-6 grid on the tac-map to start expanding loadout options.
When players reach the ship, first clear out all the Konni soldiers stationed in the nearby area, using silenced weapons will ensure the entire port doesn't become aware of Farah's presence. Once clear, search the E-3 grid for some equipment crates with a highlighted backpack on top near an ascension line to the ship. The ascender will be on the crate next to the backpack filled with ammo.
Players can find the parachute in the Harbor Tower on the third floor. Enter the Harbor Tower in H-7 and search the third floor for the Cargo Manifest. In the room to the right of the office where the manifest is found, players will see the parachute beside an orange supply crate.
Once equipped, players will be able to use the parachute exactly like in Warzone or DMZ - with both pieces of equipment acquired, players can restart the mission or replay Precious Cargo on a harder difficulty and start with the parachute and ascender available.
Floater Achievement and Trophy
Once players have both equipment items, they will need to make their way to the top of one of the cranes in the mission area and parachute to the roof of the Harbor Tower building to earn the Floater Achievement/Trophy.
Players can use the ascender to easily reach the top of the crane in F-7/F-8, the crane closest to the Harbor Tower. At the top of the crane, carefully turn to the right and position as close to the edge of the crane as possible. Aim to parachute to the far left corner of the roof, where the roof slants to its lowest point.
Jump off the crane, push forward the entire time, pull the parachute, and press the vault button right as Farah approaches the corner of the roof -- players do not need to cut the parachute away to grab the edge of the roof.
After climbing onto the roof, the challenge will be complete, and players will be awarded the Floater Bronze Trophy if playing on PlayStation or Achievement if playing on Steam or Xbox (worth 15 Gamerscore to Xbox players).
